As a student of this group of schools since I was five I have seen an incredible amount of laziness and uncaring attitudes from the teachers and school board.

The Teachers- Every expense was avoided like the plague. The schools hire the cheapest available teachers not caring for their accreditation or experience. Over the summer 3 quality teachers were dismissed from my school because they asked for a pay raise seeing that they had worked there for many years. The school board saw this as an unnecessary expense so the teachers were removed and replaced with cheaper teachers with lower salaries. Some teachers are quite frankly insane, some personal favorites in my school are the absolutely mad Mr.Shmitt who lies to the students about his life, has been caught with adult material on his school issued brick of a computer and recommends students he doesn't like drop out to make his life easier. There is also Ms. Tucci the ballistic maniacal teacher that refuses to treat students as people.

The Student Treatment- This is meant mainly for the parents to know what their child will experience. Your child is seen as a number, an asset. Maybe if they're the star player on the football team or something that can earn the school money they'll be know as a number in a smaller more exclusive group. Should your child make it into this smaller group they'll have every possible cent squeezed out of them and then be throw away like a broken tool. The school does not care about you, your child or your well being. The school cares about your money. School hallways are normally plastered with flyers for expensive overpriced trips and programs. During their junior year of high school they'll be bombarded with packets and offers to buy rediculouslt expensive class rings of shoddy make and value. The cafeterias will offer your child with incredible five star three times frozen and overcooked chicken strips and rancid milk. If your child is a fan of mold, dirt and the constant smell of kids smoking cigars in the bathrooms this is the dustrict for them! The entirety of the security is either overweight or older than the idea of school, they could maybe protect your child from a mild breeze.

Workload and Grade Fairness- This does vary from school to school, from disfunctional to absolutely atrocious. Teachers can give whatever ammount and type of work they wish. Your child will be educated yes, but not with anything worthwhile or remotely helpful. They'll be taught how to pass the district tests that give the school more funding to spend on the teacher's lounge and office. The priority is the comfort of the teachers and staff. The class rooms may need working computers but apholstered couches for the lounge(that students are not allowed to be in) is an obvious necessity before that.

Final Remarks- The district is flawed and corrupt. They don't care about the students or their future. They care about profit and how fast they can get it. Your child is an insignificant number to this school board and it will never change. Parents and students are never given a voice due to the fact that any vote that goes against what the schools want is flagged as "rigged by the students" and automatically decided upon by the board. Students are held at the front gate for hours at a time for not wearing the right shade of red and forced to miss class time. This district is the worst possible. Any parent who remotely wants a future for their child, put them elsewhere. It has intentionally been made near impossible to get your child out of this district unless you can afford to pay off the board. Put your child in a school that will make then have a chance in life, bit this cash grab excuse if a...

Miami Dade County Public Schools: An honest review.

As much as I want to sugarcoat the situation in our current school district I honestly cannot. Its amazing that my education has excelled thus far even though this school district does nothing to excel my education other than teach me the knowledge of a standardized test. I have been a student of MDCPS for 9 years, ever since 3rd grade, And having gone to some other school districts, this one is honestly, the worse and I've attended Philadelphia's school district. Now my personal experience will be varied upon schools in the Homestead/Florida city area, *personal experiences may vary. Most teachers here are somewhat passionate about their jobs. I know a few teachers that honestly, should be working at universities and seminars. Others that shouldn't even be teachers, and some that are average. The largest problem in this school district is fraternization and language discrimination. A large problem of teachers are friends with the students and do not discipline based on the problem at hand. Corruption with grades, Overlooking bullying and other key issues is just the normality in this school district. I'm honestly sure by writing this, I am subject to retaliation myself. The school food is not very nutritious but you get what you pay for, I applaud Alberto Carhalvo for his move to make all lunches free during the hurricane, and his 7 day recess to the school district. My other issue is the sheer amount of days we have as a school district, considering we surpass the recommended output of educational hours/days we shouldn't have to make up the 7 days on the recess. Now, another thing I can applaud is the school website, Considering they do constant ITS maintenance and updating, I can assure you that you or your child or whomever is reading this can check their grades. They also have social media and different platforms of communication to their disposal. Another issue is the bathrooms, now this I will lie on the students and not the school district themselves. They're are many posters around my school at least that advertise the "Project S.C.R.U.B." Program and how you can call to report a custodial issue. A lot of our bathrooms in our school smell of marijuana, mind you a schedule 1 drug by federal law, the bathrooms are also untidy, smell of urine and other human matter that I will not chose to talk about. The custodians can be seen around the school grounds and will not hesitate to clean a mess, so I will not take off points for that issue. The curriculum could use some work though, such as taking off standardized tests as a graduation requirement, as most students aren't very avid test takers and the stress the school district put on the students to pass these tests are unlike anything precedented in modern educational history. The Internet courses and Online learning are somewhat unreliable and sometimes down. There are entire classes using an internet text book with students using Second Rate tablets at best. The contracts to use said Tablets are subject to question as indentured slavery, using community service as a repossession technique. The school's do not do enough to help students in certain areas, but are trying and I will not blame them due to the copious amount of students within our school and school district. The School buses are unreliable and unsafe in some cases, I've gone without a bus driver for over 3 months to return from school. But as a summary, this school district does what it can to provide for its students, some schools will vary by administration, budget and so forth. There are some issues within the school district, but with that comes solutions, that I personally hope,...

No lies.ALL TRUE

The food is pathetic, they serve on these fragile plastic plates with nasty blobs of.......I really do not know. When they serve fruit it it soft and soggy and beaten up and sour. The ugly old lunch ladies wipe their noses and touch the food. Just gross.I almost forgot the schools failed the health inspection ( NO JOKE) The teachers are rude and awkward, they spend more time on what they wear than what and how the teach the class (female teachers) It is just plain pathetic. 3.The security is horrible, let me tell you the full out truth, go to the high school or middle school make a few deals and you my friend have some weed,. The police check book bags once every 5-6 months. The schools are very dangerous, in one school a kid got ran over by a car, I even remember the spot. Some kids get caught up in the wrong crowd and sometimes got to (kid) jail. Every once in a while kids bring guns to school. About 4-10 fights happen every month. Does anyone want that for their kid? I think not. These schools have dirty minded and sexually active teens, this district is full of perverts and thugs.During dress-downs ( where kids dress up) the girls dress so inappropriate , short tight dresses, small exposing shirts, tiny skirts ,short shorts to wear their bodies are exposed and revealed for anyone and everyone to see.It also does not help to have perverts and gang members in training here. The kids and teachers are a waste of time, when one 'funny' kid will not be quiet we have to wait until security comes which takes about a few minutes hindering focus keeping kids off track about 1/4 of a class really wants to learn. This district of students are very racist towards whites, Latins , Hispanics , Chinese, Japanese or any type of whites or whitish mixed kids, as child in this district I have seen this a lot. No parent wants their child bullied or hurt defending culture or skin. Do not send your child to this school. The kids are horrible they vomit, poop and pee all over the floor in the bathrooms and write graffiti all over the wall, and here the are talking about * cheesy voice* 'SAFE PLACE FOR ALL KIDS' They are frauds just like Mcdonald's all of them, FRAUDS.

If you see all the reviews you should have already made you choice about 3/8 say good,5/8 say bad. The principals are lazy and miserable.Crappy principals.

And that's not even half of it, This district was just BUILT for waste of time kids*

I hope everyone who has finished reading this knows how bad these schools are... PLEASE do not send your child to this district , unless you want your child as a gang member or bum under the bridge. Please take this advise. If you want your child to be a success, this is not the right school district,I think you should keep on looking. This is 'THESES ARE THE...
