During check out I noticed I was charged per diet coke. I advised the waitress I was never notified they didn't have no refills. She advised were on a can system. I said I was never brought a can nor was I ever notified you were on a can system and went and got her manager.
The manager came and I proceeded to explain I wasn't notified the establishment didn't offer refills. She said not sweet heart only dive bars offer refills. I said excuse me I've been to plenty of high end restaurants that have fountain systems that offer refills in Broward. The manager proceeded to tell me no sweet heart your in miami now, not Broward and things are different here in Miami. I advised the manager I wasn't going to argue with her.
If the establishment doesn't offer refills because they aren't on a fountain system the customer should be advised. The manager said "we don't do that". I said clearly however I was never brought a can and you bring me a flute glass filled with ice and a 12 ounce soda isn't going to fit in there so why where is the rest of my can I paid for? The manager then proceeded to argue with me and said well a flute is a champagne glass and I wasn't given a champagne glass I was given a Tom Collins glass. I said again I'm not going to argue with you over a glass. It was a flute shaped glass and an entire can of coke can't fit into that glass and I never recieved a can nor was I notified you charge per the can. She said again only dive bars have fountain systems. I said again I'm not going to argue with you and the manager said "well I dont know what to tell you, we can't do anything about it and we don't have to tell you we charge by the can." Complete scam and her behavior was extremely out of line and she clearly needs to work on her skills as a manager. We were a table of 18. As I was explaining the situation to a friend. The waitress comes up to me and says if you're going to come after anyone you should come after me not my manager. I said it's absolutely your fault. You should have advised me you dont off refills and you should have brought me the can and you didn't. However your manager needs to conduct herself as a manager. A customer is giving feedback and instead of listening to the feedback she's arguing.
As an establishment there should be transparency and clearly that isn't the case here. The manager is also extremely rude and argumentative. She was also trying to charge us $30 for bringing a cake when during our reservation they never disclosed a fee would be associated with bringing a cake. Even though we disclosed via email we would be bringing a cake. The manager pulled up her email and was like I'm sorry I'm not seeing that email so we're going to charge you and then when we showed her the email she just walked away.
They charged automatic gratuity of 20% for our large party. They didn't disclose the automatic gratuity rate either. Nor is it listed anywhere on the menu or at the establishment. Although the standard tip rate included for large parties at a restaurant is typically around 18% for automatic gratuity...
Read moreThe citadel is definitely a place where you can bring friends and family. It has a nice mix to it.very chill and laid back all in one. The food court has variety of options to choose from. There's pizza , burger, a bar , taco, and a Caribbean spot just to name some of the options. My wife and I wanted to try the citadel for the first time and let's just say ,we would ONLY go back to one of the eateries called manjay . Manjay is the Caribbean eatery that sells a selected option of Caribbean style foods. I must admit my wife and I were blown away by the flavors that were incorporated in the food. Sad to say we didn't order from them, but we did get samples and the samples were better then the food we actually purchased at the other vendors. I'm not sure if the young man we had the pleasure of meeting was the owner or employee, but his customers service skills were a 10 out 10. We did purchase a rum cake from manjay and I must say it was delicious. They allowed us to sample their griot and rice and the rice was so good ,that you could eat it alone. The griot which is the fried pork, was so tender and flavorful. Manjay is definitely a 10 out 10. Now I did go purchase the pizza at the citadel and I was not impressed. Seventeen dollars for a personal size pizza?? Did not care for the pizza at all, the crust was a bit on the salty side. The service at that vendor was definitely a 10. My wife did go to the burger location at the citadel and we definitely did not like the burger. The bread that they used got mushy after a few minutes, and they cooked the burger at a medium ,which is not how we like our burger. Definitely would not be going back. And last the bar . I ordered a mojito and my wife ordered a red margarita, and let's just say she did not like it and had to return it for a cranberry vodka. My mojito wasn't bad, but I've had better. The only reason I would go back to the citadel would be for manjay. You pay for the ambiance. Portions at each location...
Read moreI usually love to come here but the last time I go was last night. I was taking out my Mom out for mother’s day with my Dad and Girlfriend. We made reservations and got there on time. We arrived and as soon as we arrived we are asked multiple times where we are from for some reason and after saying Miami multiple times the host still asked. Made me feel out of place already. We requested a high top on the corner. We sit down the entire table is wobbly and uneven, so we asked for a different high top. Yes they did it but they did not seem too happy to serve us and accommodate us with a good table that wasn’t wobbly. They made it seem as if it was a bother to get a table that wasn’t broken or wobbly. The server was very nice and understanding answered all our questions and we had no issues with ordering our food. But when the food was sent out it was sent out without one of the plates due to the chicken not being added to the pasta. No big deal but my girlfriend had to wait about 20 minutes for her food and her food was not brought out to us until I asked about it. And when we asked about it the hostess gave us attitude! Which was very rude. The food was brought to her quickly after that but three of us had already finished eating. They made it up by removing a drink but if I am being honest did not make up for the whole experience and the host/hostess made us feel somewhat unwelcome. This is supposed to be a good rooftop with a unique experience in my opinion especially with all the food options. But this last visit did not meet my expectations. Not the best mother’s day dinner for my Mom. But she did like the food. The tables need to be fixed or updated instead of putting blocks under it to balance the tables and the host could be more welcoming and not ask the same question over and over again like we do not belong here in Miami when we were all born and...
