Avalon Coffee Co — Restaurant in Middle Township

Ordered food at the counter. Every table was dirty. Asked coffee bar attendant who was refilling cups if I could use a rag to clean a table. She said they don't "give out" rags. So we sat at a dirty table and waited a very long time for our food. I ordered the scrambled egg platter which came with unbuttered toast. I went to the counter to ask for some jelly and butter. The same girl who couldn't give me a rag and couldn't wipe any of the tables asked me if I "ordered" jelly. I said no, I ordered a breakfast platter with toast. Can I have some jelly for that? She said you have to pay for jelly. They have to "order it" so I have to pay for it. Ok?? I go back to my dry toast. We decided to split a waffle platter, so I was looking forward to that. There was no butter, but there was syrup on the dirty table. The waffle was inedible. We didn't eat it. It was sour like the batter was bad. I don't usually complain as I've worked in restaurants and know everyone has an off day. I didn't complain, but I mentioned it to the chefs working in the kitchen area. They said...huh? I went here today with a Church group. Never again. I ordered a Roasted Turkey Salad. It was supposed to be romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onions turkey, cranberries and seasoned crumbs. Everyone that ordered after me got their food first. I went up to see where my salad was and the girl said oh it right here and handed it to me. When I got it, it wasn't even what I ordered. It had romaine lettuce, turkey, dried cranberries, croutons and lots of walnuts. I cannot have walnuts. I told the girl at the counter that it was the wrong salad and she had to look at the menu to see what it was supposed to have on it. She told me it would be right up. I waited about 25-30 minutes. When I went back up the second time to see where my salad was she never made it and ran to the back to make it. By the time I got it all the church people were done eating and leaving so I ended up taking my salad home with me and it was still missing ingredients. Everyone that I went with was told that they couldn't have what they originally ordered because they were out of the ingredients. We all decided that we will never go...

If I could give this place zero stars I would! I went into their store to order a bagel with vegetable cream cheese. Upon my first bite I suddenly heard a loud crack when I bit down. I immediately spit it out and was shocked to find little tiny black rocks in the cream cheese!!! It was literally so loud and hard that I almost thought my tooth broke(tooth is still hurting btw). This is when it gets even worse. I went to complain to the staff and she called a manager right away. This short bald guy came over and I explained to him what happened and even showed him the little tiny black rocks/coal pieces. First he proceeded to ask me if I wanted to have my order remade. Are you serious??? I don't want to eat here again. Then he proceeded to tell me that it was pieces of burnt onion!!! Really??? This is clearly not any type of food and def no burnt onions!! It was shards of rocks!! They couldn't really give me a straight answer as to what it was. I have never in my life had this happen and the response from management was pathetic.
