Pretty good food for the price point. I'm local and am happy to have somewhere in Cape May county serving Greek inspired food. With that said, i don't know how often, or if, I'll be back.
Its 3 stars from me. I might update my review to 4 if their service was better. It's not even that it's that slow, but its really cold. Not talking temperature here. I have read that it can be sluggish, but that wasn't too much of a problem for us either time during lunch. What was a problem both our first and 2nd time there is the waiters attitudes.
I've eaten everywhere from Michelin starred restaurants, to my favorite local pubs, and never at these places, or anywhere in between, have I felt so brushed off. No one greets you, or introduces themselves, or asks how you are, and it just goes downhill from there. It's not that requests are ignored, but don't expect eye contact or even a response as you're asking for something.
Our tables fries came out cold. When we asked for some fresh ones, or to have our plate reheated, our waiter picked up the plate and walked away. No apologies, no response. Our only other request the entire time we were there was to ask for new ketchup packets that they had in a little basket on the table.
All of the containers were super greasy and slimy. NOT appealing when you're eating a sandwich with your hands. We were very polite in notifying one of the waiters on staff about it. He proceeded to stand at our table, feeling each container as if he didn't believe us, and then as we were midsentence talking to him asking for some new ones he just walked away with the basket. No sorry. No stating that he'd be back with any. Just walked away.
When bringing the check, there was no, "thanks for coming", or "how was everything", or "have a nice day." I also had my card ready in hand for the check and he just seemed annoyed that he had to take it then rather than coming back for it.
Both guys just acted like they couldn't be bothered. Like we were inconveniencing them by being there. Seriously, not a good look. I know the 2 guys are young, but I'm in my 20s too and definitely know how to talk to people. Either retrain your staff to have a friendly demeanor or find servers who do. The world is filled to the brim with people who are naturally personable and who can also bring over a plate of food. Hire...
Read moreI’ve been dreaming of eating here for over a year; I came one step closer by ordering take out (make reservations for dinner time!)
We ordered entirely off the appetizers, to taste test a bunch of delightful items. We ordered: Spanakopita (spinach pies), Paxi Tuna, Grilled Octopus (they had a special where we received two tentacles), Pilikia Mixed Grill (small, which beware easily feeds 3 people!), Greek side salad, with pita and tzatziki.
Spinach pies were delicious. Large pieces stuffed full of spinach and feta sandwiched between flakey phyllo dough. My only issue is it was cold by the time we arrived home. The Paxi Tuna was the highlight because the cucumber relish had so much acidity it was bursting with flavor, not much tuna though. It was in a small very thin slice with cucumber relish piled high on a flimsy juice soaked pita (assuming the pita causality is a result of driving it home). The Octopus and assortment of Greek style meats were well cooked. Only issue was the chicken filet was a little dry and lacked seasoning. The gyro meat and pork ribeye were the highlights! They also served it with basil hummus, tzatziki, and a thin lemon sauce. The basil hummus was 10/10...unfortunately there tzatziki is a thin watery flavorless dipping sauce. It was the let down for me. It needed to be thicker with more cucumber. It needed way more dill and a squeeze of lemon would have brightened it up. The pita was just average pita. Side salad was delicious! Oh and the grilled octopus came with a side of garbanzo beans - cooked nicely, under seasoned.
All in all the food was well prepared, but lacked seasoning. I very much enjoyed taste testing a variety of apps and of course I will be back to hopefully dine in for a better experience. Staff is super nice and the food is well priced!...
Read moreBefore we arrived, I tried to make a reservation. The site had 5:30 pm grayed out. So my husband and I arrived right at 5:30. The hostess didn't ask about reservations. We were the only guests in the restaurant. It is very small and not fancy. Most of the padded seats were ripped. The other options for seating were metal chairs. We took a few minutes looking over the menu. We ordered our appetizers and entree. It took 45 minutes to get our appetizers. In the meantime, other guests arrived. It seemed as if they waited for other guests with reservations to arrive before starting the grill. It took another 20 minutes to get our salads. Our entrees arrived after 7 pm. We took a few bites and asked for boxes. We were exhausted, and we had waited so long for our food that we decided to take it home. Which we ended up throwing away. We spent over $100 (including tip). The food was covered in all kinds of different cheeses. I guess we don't like Greek food. My summary is to make a reservation and be a fan of Greek food. I do not recommend. I...
