We went on Friday, May 27th. We had the garlic knots and they were good. My husband had the carbonara, which he enjoyed. I had the cavatelli with wine sauce that tasted like chicken soup. It didn’t have any real flavor to it.
We decided to give the restaurant another try being that our first visit was shortly after opening. It was not a pleasant experience. We made a reservation, so we were seated pretty quickly. We were a party of 5 seated at a booth. Our table ordered the bolognese with linguine, fettuccine Alfredo, bolognese with gnocchi, chicken parmigiana and eggplant parmigiana. That is not what came out of the kitchen. They came to our table with 3 plates of parmigiana but they didn’t know which one’s were chicken or eggplant. They forgot the Alfredo, which was never made. So one of our party had to wait for their whole meal to be prepared while we were all served. Turned out that we were given two plates of eggplant parmigiana instead of one chicken. Now another person in our party had to wait until our server came back to our party (which was a while) to get his order corrected, therefore not being able to eat along with us. When the Alfredo arrived it was watery and lacked flavor. My daughter left 2/3 of it on her plate. The bolognese lacked any flavor also. I tried adding the cheese on the table to give it some depth of flavor, but it didn’t help. It was reported that the eggplant and wedding soup were good.
The server was overwhelmed. The server was busy moving about but lacked direction. We had to ask multiple times for things. We watched servers trying to deliver salads to tables who were finishing up their meals. It all seemed very chaotic.
Never once did anyone apologize for the numerous mistakes that occurred during our attempt at a family meal.
We got our bill which came to $131 (cash). Note this restaurant charge an upgrade for debit/credit. We left our server a 20% tip because the errors were from the kitchen. Her lack of direction is a management issue. She needs more training.
When I attempted to speak with someone behind the counter about how disappointed we were the person began giving excuses…” we had a large party earlier “. Large parties earlier should not impact the quality of the food. His solution was to refund $13.
This place may have good pizzas and hoagies, but we’ll never be back...
Read moreLove having a new restaurant in town! Middletown is a small farming town that has exploded with new growth and lots of new residents from out of state. They all want what they had back in their cities/states and tear down anything that doesn't suit their tastes. I've seen lots of great reviews on Randazzo's and a few rather harsh reviews, so we decided to give it a try. Well, first we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, the atmosphere was great and it's an open concept kitchen. They were all working their butts off! While the main hostess was clearing a few tables, we had the sweetest young lady take our name down, and she sweetly said it would be 10 to 15 minutes' wait. Once the tables were cleared, we were promptly seated. Menus were vast with just about every meal option possible, and it all looked great! We watched lots of food come out of the kitchen and those dishes looked amazing! No skimping on the servings! We opted for a gluten-free pizza due to an allergy and the Chicken Capreze sandwich. Well, the pizza arrived, and it was clearly a hand tossed pizza dough, not the standard pre-made gluten-free crust most restaurants use. Had to clarify with our waitress, Angela - she was awesome, more on her in a minute - and Angela confirmed that YES, THEY DO REAL Gluten-free pizza dough!!!!!! Hold your hats folks, it was great! Tasted like real pizza crust! That alone is worth the trip! The Chicken Capreze sandwich was good as well. Didn't have room for dessert, but they all looked phenomenal! Definitely next time! Now, for Angela, our server, SHE'S AWESOME! She takes pride in her job, attentive to our requests, took time to actually have a conversation, not long because they were busy, but made sure we felt welcome. Will ask for Angela every time we go back now. People need to give this restaurant grace and a chance to work through a new start-up. They have only been open 3 weeks. Give them some time to get to know their customers and community. I think they are still waiting on their liquor license as there is a bar. That will be a nice addition! Super happy with our first visit and plan on...
Read moreCame here last night for dinner with my mom and sister. Dad chickened out and didn’t want to come to a new restaurant. I got the grilled chicken and spaghetti meals, my mom got some sandwich with chicken, tomato’s and other junk on it. My sister decided on the spaghetti. I got the fettuccine noodles which combined with the meat sauce were BUSSIN ! We also got garlic knots as an appetizer and they were amazing as well. We got seated at a table and I was gutted so I asked for a booth and we were quickly moved to an open booth. Now tables r bad for my image and reputation because they make you look inferior and insecure to other diners. When u sit in a booth you are showing everyone else you are in complete and total control of your seating experience and your extreme dominance among others will show as well. This is a brand new restaurant and the service was really quick and everything came out exactly how we ordered it. We took a meal home for dad and he enjoyed it and said he will put on his big boy pants and come out with us here next time. I was a little hesitant at first because it’s a new place and I was afraid they were still working out the bugs but everything was smooth and we enjoyed our meals a lot. We got like 7 meals total and the price was only 108$ !!! Pretty good in todays economy. Damn Castro making the prices go up! They also have cloth napkins here which was nice for a restaurant round this...
