Unfortunately, the food just isn’t good any more. We have loved this restaurant since the day they opened. A month or so ago, we ordered takeout and the food was cold and watery. Every dish tasted different to how it had in the past, in a bad way. In addition, they gave me a Rogan Josh, plus another Rogan Josh but with a Goan lid. It was very clearly the same dish. I returned it for a refund and the manager said he’s not sure why the dishes were the same.
The staff are always exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I asked if there was a new chef and the manager explained that they had a new chef that was experimenting and making changes to recipes. I offered some constructive feedback and told him that all changes were for the worst based on my order.
I was hopeful that this was a one off bad experience.
We just ordered again and unfortunately, we had the same bad experience. The dishes were watery like soup, they all tasted the same except the vindaloo, and they were all barely warm. I’m pretty sure they’re using a poor base gravy to make all of the dishes.
This time, I had ordered a madras and a Goan as part of my order. I received two Madras dishes but one had a Goan lid. Same as last month, it was very clearly the same dish. Again, I returned it for a refund. The manager told me that the chef is experimenting and it should get better. He also told me that the madras and Goan are very similar. Visually, I’d agree that they are similar, but they taste completely different. I’ve been ordering these dishes for a very long time at this point and have never had an issue identifying them either visually or by test. In addition, my children love the goan but do not like the Madras, so there is obviously a very different flavor profile between the two dishes.
Unless the chef changes, this will be my last order. I’m all for supporting local businesses and spending money on great food, but I can’t spend another 127 dollars on bad food, in addition to having to drive back to the restaurant for a...
Read moreHighly recommend coming here if you haven’t already. The wait staff has been very nice each time I’ve gone and the right amount of attentive. The second time I went they had a small band playing which was a nice touch.
Their spice level is a little on the higher side so if you are spice sensitive go with mild. To me medium was perfect, but some of the dishes I got spicy and they were still delicious. Their spice also has a depth of flavor so you can actually taste the seasoning on the food and not just the “burn” that spicy food can give.
The first time we ordered the gobi Manchurian it was fried a little too long but the flavor was perfect. The second time it was cooked perfectly and flavor was great. I wish it came with more cucumber because it adds a nice bite if you eat it together but that’s just a personal preference and could probably just ask for more. I’ll probably order this every-time I go. (Hehe)
The paneer saag was a little thick but very flavorful and had plenty of paneer in it.
The shrimp tandoori probably is my favorite so far. Perfectly cooked shrimp on a nice hot skillet. The salmon tikka was good but the salmon had the slightest fishy taste. I’d still get it again but the shrimp will be first choice hands down.
The butter lamb was also delicious and the lamb was nice and tender.
You really can’t go wrong with garlic naan & the rice is plentiful & also seems slightly seasoned? It’s very good though.
Portion sizes are very good and everything is...
Read moreI'm happy that my husband discovered this place recently. We decided to give it a try for one of our dates. They're so friendly, which is important right from the start. Their restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated, so the ambiance was good for a quick lunch, a family meal, or date night! Looking over the menu, I chose a couple of favorites, and so did my husband.
Well, I was not disappointed by the quality of the dishes. The lamb biryani, lamb and veggies samosas, saag paneer, and Lachha paratha (one of my favorite breads) were all delicious choices. We loved how the food was brought out and set upon the table family style. We enjoyed serving ourselves whatever portions we wanted.
As I typically do at any Indian restaurant, I ordered gulab jamun for dessert, but I also recommend you try the orange kulfi! My husband and I shared this cool refreshing ice cream treat, which was also pretty, I might add! Lastly, in my reviews, I usually make mention of comfort and accessibility issues because they are ones that I personally cope with.
I want people to know when traveling, eating out, or visiting local areas of interest how well they can navigate those places. This restaurant's dining area may be on the smaller side, but someone in a wheelchair would be able to get around and eat at the tables comfortably. I'm also glad they had booths with comfortable cushioned seating, not just tables and chairs. So I strongly recommend you...
