I can honestly say this was our first and last time at this restaurant. My Husband and I, both Black, were excited to try this place, but from the moment we walked in, it was a letdown. We decided to sit at the bar, hoping for a relaxed evening, but the service was cold and dismissive from the start.

The bartender was incredibly rude. We sat there for almost 10 minutes trying to get his attention, and he completely ignored us. It was honestly shocking. He walked by us several times, acting like we didn’t exist, while we repeatedly said ā€œexcuse meā€ or tried to wave him down. Then, a white couple sitting next to us waved their hand, and without hesitation, he immediately went over to them. They didn’t even need anything—they were just trying to get his attention FOR US! Meanwhile, we were still sitting there, being totally ignored. It was impossible to ignore the way we were being treated differently, and it left a really sour taste in our mouths.

We tried to make the best of it, but the food was a huge disappointment. Started off with basic beef nachos. They were so bland and flavorless that we decided not to order any entrees . The drinks were fine—nothing special—though the frozen margarita flight was a bit of a bright spot. It was probably the only thing that was actually enjoyable.

The whole experience felt uncomfortable, and it’s hard not to feel like the way we were treated had something to do with the color of our skin, being as though everyone else seated at the bar was white and had no visible issues interacting with the waiter.

We’ll definitely never be back, and we’ll be sure to share our experience with others so they don’t end up feeling the same way. It’s really disappointing to see a place like this drop the...

COVID clean! My daughter and I visited this authentic Mexican restaurant about 3 weeks ago. Sorry for delayed review. We are just beginning to eat out and this restaurant was our first indoor since COVID began. Upon entering its clean and not your typical Mexican cluttered decor. No offense as I’m Hispanic. Place was clean and modern. Hostess was pleasant. We were seated across from bar at back of restaurant and if I wasn’t the solo driver, I may have had an alcoholic beverage. I must add, they had about 4 large Margarita makers that looked like the frozen beverage machines at convenience stores. Yum! Not sure what flavors but looked quite appealing. Maybe next time! Bar area was also modern and clean! My daughter and I knew what we wanted. It was late and we were hungry so why wait on initial foreplay? However, like traditional of most Mex restaurants, we were served free Chips & Salsa. Very delish and fresh! I ordered Street Tacos (2 Chix & 2 beef); my daughter ordered Taco Salad. (Sorry again, forgot to take pix! šŸ˜•). Both meals were delicious and well flavored. Great portion. Only negatives is they used more refried beans than Meat as filler in Salad. Ask for more meat than bean. And don’t expect the bowl, which is a fried flour tortilla, to be filled to top. It was just under 1/2 full. For us it was enough . Just warning ya! We would’ve gotten dessert but we were full! And as always, we were hankering for DQ ice cream. But again, when we return, oh yes we will return, hopefully we will get dessert! Overall, we enjoyed food and prices were reasonable. Just don’t take home chips and salsa. They...

Had high expectations, but left disappointed.

Came for lunch on a Sunday, as I heard the wait times for dinner have been extremely long. We were seated immediately. The decor is very nice with a mix of booths and chair and table seating.

The menu is extensive and the prices seemed reasonable. We started with the crab and shrimp nachos, which were very tasty. However, they did not come with any sides. They definitely needed a fresh element and would have benefited greatly from some Pico or guacamole.

For the main courses, I had the Steak Burrito Azteca and my wife had the Shrimp Chimichangas. The portions were decent sized and both came with rice and beans. Both of our meals came out luke warm. First time I have been to a Mexican restaurant and not had a very hot plate. Both were tasty, but the steak in my burrito was way overseaaoned. On a side note, my daughter decided to get the kids grilled cheese. It was limp and barely toasted and came with maybe 10 thin French fries. She ate like 2 bites and left the reat behind.

As for the service, our server was pleasant but extremely slow. We had to ask for water refills. And when it came time to pay, we had to wait about 10 minutes for him to come back to ask for our check.

Might give this place another shot, but after this visit Los Mochados is still my go to for...

Updated Review; This was our second time here and we ate at the bar. Got there at 4:30 on a Tuesday and we were the only ones sitting at the bar. $180 for dinner, drinks and a bottle of Bad Hombre to take home. About 5:15 people started to come in and the bar filled up within 15 minutes. By then we had our drinks and dinner in front of us. The food was great and we both had a large Skinny Margarita and shared a shot of Bad Hombre. I enjoyed eating at the bar way more than at a table like our first time there. Original Review Dec. 20, 2024; Staying in a hotel right across the street we found El Azteca on Google Maps. This was a great find. We had a booth for dinner and later had a drink at the bar. The service was excellent. El Azteca promotes their own brand of Tequila called Bad Hombre. We had Casamigos at the table with dinner and then a Bad Hombre chilled in the bar after dinner. Bad HombreĀ  is an organic tequila which is what we prefer to drink. The food was fresh and delicious, as well as the drinks. It was a Friday night with bad weather so we were happy to find it not overly crowded.

Food tastes great, drinks look nice and taste ok, service is horrible. We thought they were trying to be efficient on a weekend, but turned out there’s definitely room for improvement: 1. We were a little rushed to order food without being explained/introduced. 2. We had to ask for our waters - twice. We got only one glass of water after the first attempt. 3. The sizzling fajita was placed right next to our sitting and curious baby - before that the large serving tray was hovering right above baby. 4. Napkins??! - After we asked for more napkins (we both got tacos), we got exactly one ā˜ļø more from the table next to us who just left the restaurant. The server claimed that it was unused. Which made us think twice about the chips we got as appetizer… 5. We were again rushed to check out - server who we didn’t know the name started to take our food away - twice. We were there for less than an hour in total. We were thinking about ordering more food to go but decided not to, because of all the observations above.
