More than a Deli: The first thing you may notice when you walk through the Doors, is that there’s no overwhelming odor of food of any sorts. Next, you’ll be saluted by whom I believe is the proprietor of the place; a well-mannered, good natured, person with a desire to share with you his BEST, and that he did. I left the Door open for him to choose for me his Best, and I was not Disappointed. He ordered me The Pilgrim; I would rather Refer to it as TURKEY 🦃 CAKE 🎂. It IS DELICIOUS But Most of all, there was Nothing OVER-BEARING in any of it; not the bread, not the cheese, not even the Dill Pickle. I’ve had a lot of sandwiches in my time but never one so balanced that it just felt all around pleasant in every which way. I believe there was a Raspberry vinaigrette, turkey of course, and the fillings of bread 🍞 which was soft & fluffy, the sandwich wasn’t squeezed or pressed, or drizzling at the sides. The accommodations are clean 😇, the music is just-below thought level. It’s Amazing but more than A Deli, so much more. You won’t forget You were there because it’s not even about competition, this place is COMPLETE!!...
Read moreThis won’t be a review of the food just because the service we received when we walked in was enough to make us uncomfortable enough to leave. We walked in today, on a busy mid Saturday, visiting for the first time. Chairs were up and floor was being mopped which was totally fine but the person behind the counter looked so irritated that we were there it made me ask, “oh are you guys closed?” He sighed and sounded so super annoyed and said, “no, just come on in”. I said, “oh do you close soon?” And he, again super annoyed said, “no we don’t close til 5”. The girl that was mopping the floor was super nice but the guy behind the counter just made us uncomfortable and feel unwelcome.
I looked at my husband and didn’t know what to do so we got menus and said we’d look at them outside but then just left. We’d love to come back and try the actual food but just didn’t feel super comfortable with the atmosphere. I do see that others have different experiences though so maybe it was...
Read moreI used Google Maps to look for a place to eat in Midland while traveling across Michigan and this place was the find of the day! You can order a predetermined type of sandwich or design your own from a wide variety of bread, meat, cheese and fixings options. But as a Michigan ex-pat, I was excited to have the Chili Dog which uses Detroit style chili sauce which can't easily be found outside of Michigan. This is the stuff my Dad used to make and I haven't been able to easily replicate so it was a yummy blast of nostalgic past and it was Good. This is real food at great prices and I would eat here often if I lived nearby. (bonus for those on road trips: the area where Amazing Deli is located is really lovely. There's an ice cream / fudge shop close by for desert and a few gift stores for...
