We went for dinner, had the fries and shrimp cocktail for appetizer, wine and cider to drink. Elaine was a very friendly and helpful waitress. The drizzle on the fries was great, the deep fried banana peppers were absolutely delicious, the fries were ok, but I'm unfairly comparing the fries to Cafe Zinc's fries next door, which are addictively delicious. Shrimp cocktail was tasty, but the shrimp were not jumbo, which is what everyone assumes (incorrectly) that they will get when ordering shrimp cocktail. The drinks came from bottles and cans and were as good as hoped for. For the main course, we both had the pork chops, which were cooked as close to perfection as you can get, the glaze was delicious, the brussel sprouts were exquisitely seasoned and did not taste like burnt balsamic like most places serve. The potatoes were cooked very well and were consistent, but didn't offer pizzazz. That being said, they were a nice contrast to all of the flavors in the pork chop and seasoning in the brussel sprouts. ONe eighteen does generously provide complementary bread. The multiple flavors of the bread are not adventurous and happily not filling. The butter accompaniment is good, but for soft breads, a whipped butter is a better match. We shared a chocolate ganache tart for dessert. The ganache was done well, the crust was cooked just enough to be completely done, and two small unnecessary flavorless domes of whipped cream decorated the top. This was a delicious meal in a fantastic atmosphere (think mid-modern 1960's lodge bar/dining room) great service, and nice choices for a...
Read moreVery good service, ambience, and food. Our anniversary dinner started with a Singapore Sling for my wife and a Founders Porter on tap for me. Both were very good, and the S. Sling had top shelf liquor. Two kinds of bread rolls, a light and dark grain, were immediately served and both very good with the herb butter, 2nds on bread were quick. We ordered the Brussel sprout/fig/pork bits appetizer and we both loved it. It was a large portion for two people, and were probably the best Brussel sprouts I have had. Our dinner entrees were the crab cake and fish of the day. The crab cake came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and we both thought we would get it again. My fish of the day was about a 5 oz filet of branzino (European bass) over small potatoes and tomato sauce with some spinach and cherry tomatoes. This was a good change from how I usually cook fish. For dessert we had the berry cake/berry sauce and a flourless chocolate torte with grand marnier and orange zest. Both were excellent and would get them again. To top it all off, they gave us complimentary sparkling wine for our anniversary. We will go...
Read moreWe were celebrating my birthday and I was looking forward to a good meal. I was pleasantly surprised because Table far exceeded my expectation! My husband and I both noted that this was a very high end restaurant for the size of the city. We weren't sure if there was a restaurant of this caliber where we are from.
I ordered the lobster tail and filet and was so pleased with how well prepared the steak was (I hate over cooked steak). I had The Chef's Crabcakes for an appetizer and they were so delicious. His appetizer was the Jack Daniel braised pork belly - holly, hannah, was it ever good! His main was the Pan Seared Scallop Carbonnara which he enjoyed.
The sommalier provided a list of wines to accompany our meal and he was bang with the Fattori Valparadiso - pinot grigio.
I would recommend this restaurant because the setting was lovely (very well decorated), the service was impeccable and the food was delicious. It made for a very special birthday weekend...
