Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Midvale

I’m surprised my visit here was such a sht show when all these reviews seem to be praising this location. Me, my husband, and son came here, my son (2) fell asleep in the car, so I had my husband run in “real fast”, there was ONE other couple in here who had ordered. They came in and out REALLY quick. My husband placed our order, which was the #6 (classic veggie) and the #13 (favorite veggie) It took almost 15 minutes for VEGGIE sandwiches to be made. My husband was sitting inside texting me about how they were just diking around, I was watching the employees through the window, and there was 4 of them working, all at the register talking and hanging out. NO ONE WAS MAKING OUR SANDWICHES! FINALLY they had made them, and the girl handed my husband a bag with both of our sandwiches ON TOP of the bag. YES ON TOP, NOT INSIDE. NO NAPKINS OR ANYTHING. He handed me my sandwich in the car, and I opened it (mine was the #13) and my bread was broken, Mayo spreaded on the whole outside of the bread, and covering the inside of the wrapper... and again... NO NAPKINS. Let me just describe this sandwich to anyone who is reading this... broken bread, a block of cheese, a jar of mayo, 5 sprinkles of lettuce on each side, a swab of guac inbetween my block of cheese, 4 tiny squishy tomatoe slices, and 4 thin sliced cucumbers. Way to make a sandwich Jimmy. Isn’t jimmy johns slogan “freaky fast”? Well, could’ve fooled me. I will never return to this location again. Should’ve just gone to subway.

UPDATE; Jimmy johns was super quick to respond to me and fix this issue! I’m beyond amazed with this establishment! Not only did they get in contact with me right away and replaced our sandwiches (and they were definitely delicious!) they had also given us an apology basket with some Jimmy John goodies in it and delivered it right to our door (and they don’t even deliver that far out to us!). Jimmy johns, you have definitely redeemed yourselves and my pregnant belly is very satisfied...

Our experience started off pretty rough when the delivery driver walked into our backyard and started yelling for apartment A instead of knocking on front door like every other delivery drivers we've had with other restaurants. When I walked out my back door to greet her she yelled at me for not having an apartment letter by my door and that I needed to make my landlord put one up as if I could do that. With our food, we ordered a sweet tea which was unsweetened and just came with sugar packets (that might be a corporate decision though so that might be out of the store's hands), but what was worse is that the tea caused a burning taste in my mouth and my partner's mouth. I'm not sure if cleaning chemicals weren't properly washed out of the containers or what happened, but sweet tea should NEVER leave you with a burning taste in your mouth. To add even more insult to injury they didn't even cut our sandwiches like we requested. If something that simple is failed, I'm nervous to find out exactly what...

In general, I'm a fan of Jimmy John's. There are better sandwiches, and there are cheaper sandwiches, but I've always felt that the value was about right. I've never had something I didn't like, and have never had a screwed up order.

As a franchise, they also pride themselves on their speed. That was more evident on my last visit than ever before. I happened to already know what I wanted and as I walked in the door a sandwich maker yelled out to take my order, to which I promptly replied. By the time I made it to the register there was someone there to ring me up and I swiped my card immediately. Before my card payment even had a chance to finish processing, I was handed my made-to-order sandwich. The speed was quite unbelievable, really. They all have very good attitudes and you can tell this location is particularly well managed. Kudos...
