Worst service in Utah you sign in 5:50pm first female took our name and head count said about 30 minutes wait time very friendly she even came to us asking if we need kids menu. Now 30 minutes later my grandson asked the host who barely looked at him how long more is the wait, unfriendly response said your table not ready, nothing else. The host female about 5'5 short brown hair, fair looking that does not know how to smile is very RUDE she picks and choose who she will seat. Now at 45 minutes a family of 7 walks in for 5 minutes and gets seated i walk calmly asking how long more, that family just came in and seated immediately, no sorry only not sure how that happened our table not ready, i asked out of the entire place we only have one table we can get, no response just a rude face. Soon after party of 15 walks in right to a table, now i am upset, i walk to the host and said she has bad customer service i didn't want to hear her and asked for the manager, 5'3 short older male with a beard, said nothing like how may i help you, i told him i felt discrimination, because of how the host kept putting all the other parties in before us. Host started mouthing off putting her chest out since she brought 5 workers around the manager had to pull her back and walk away. Then another employee you knows nothing bigger female long black hair and eyelashes tells me with attitude i should have not talk to her like that, excuse me you should have shut your mouth you don't know nothing. The so call manager says we don't want to get out of hand, so i said let's talk outside, i wanted to discuss the situation but he didn't want to come. I went back and said i thought you didnt want to make a scene. He threatened there is witnesses and he told me to let him talk he spoke only to defend his worker not a resolution, now i see 3 booths open, i asked why weren't we offered that, he replied you asked for a table and the booth would not fit, i said why after the second time did she not give options, he had the nerve to say its a two way street why i didn't ask. Are you kidding me, only then did he ask if we want the booth after that awful situation you think we would stay. The manager who needs alot of leadership training it's strange how timid he is letting his workers run the place he doesn't have any control, then the host needs major help and training in customer service and should NOT work with people she does not have the personality for that job, and lastly the other rude employee who brings her big body for intimidation should not have stayed totally out of it.these employees needs to listen and are clue less to customer service. I went back to the hotel and told everyone about this EXTREMELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE and not go to...
Read moreWe went to the Longhorn at The District for the first time recently and it was a fantastic experience, so we thought we'd try this location. We arrived before 4:30, well before the dinner rush. We were seated immediately, and a drink order was taken right away. Then it felt like we sat around for 10+ minutes just to place our food order, despite us all sitting with our menus closed. They weren't busy at all, so I'm not quite sure what the delay was. Otherwise, our server was fine.
The fresh bread was great, same as our experience before. When it came to ordering, one of our party said "I'll have that as well" when I ordered the 12 oz ribeye. When the food came out, he almost certainly received a New York, and it was more like 8 oz. It was visually about half the size of my ribeye. I didn't think much of it at the time, thinking I misheard what he ordered. I know my steak, though, and can spot a New York or a ribeye a mile away. When we got the check later, I saw that we were billed for the ribeye, but at that point it was eaten and we didn't bring it up since there wouldn't have been any proof.
The brussel sprouts are fantastic. Very, very good. The chocolate cake dessert was good as well. My steak was mediocre, at best. It was cooked properly, but it was just dull and bland. Mind you, I only use salt and pepper when I grill at home, but it was just a big letdown. Virtually no cap on the ribeye, and it was very gristly. A pretty sad cut for a ribeye, which was disappointing since it's normally my favorite.
My wife got the Parmesan crusted chicken. She absolutely loved it at the other Longhorn, but found it borderline inedible at this location. I don't know what the deal is, but this was overall a totally different experience from the other location. Had this been my first experience at a Longhorn, I'd never go back. Fingers crossed that The District location is as good as it was by the time we make it there again. Overall a disappointing meal for over...
Read moreCan't remember the last time I was so disappointed in the customer service and the lack of willingness to grant an easy, very simple request. We came to your restaurant for a special birthday celebration today specifically because you have a great, family round table. Gathering as a family at a round table where every can see and hear each other, talk and visit and be together as a family is wonderful and should have been so easy. We came specifically at 2:45PM hoping that would be a good time to be able to get that specific table and knowing that you don't take reservations. We were happy upon arrival. Very few people in the restaurant and the table was vacant but they wouldn't seat us there. Should have been a very easy and indeed was a most reasonable request. Nope. Can't sit there. First story was "we don't have a server covering that table"....but "we can seat you in this booth" which was perhaps 8-10 feet away. Upon asking for the manager, her response was, "its policy not to seat less than 8 people at that table so no, you can't sit your family at that round table" (even though there were only six chairs at the table.) We could have had a great experience and been in and out of there in 60 minutes. They could have cared less if we stayed or left. Highly, very disappointing customer service and caring. Don't know if I will every take my family there again after being treated the way we were treated. Please train your people to have a little initiative and make correct calls. It's all about making customer's feel valued and we sure didn't. Can't recommend this...
