I don't understand how this place is even still in business. If it's not reflective of the entire chain, then this specific store in Midvale has some of the worst management I've ever seen in any fast food restaurant anywhere!
Let's begin with the fact that the chain notoriously advertises itself as "The World's Largest Hot Dog Chain" and only four hours after being open for business on Sat., Oct. 3, 2020, they have an employee walking to each car in the drive-thru lane waiting to order telling each driver that they have run out of hotdogs and might be closing for the day!
Let that sink in for a minute. The world's "largest hot dog chain" and they have no hot dogs after being open for only four hours!!! How colossal of a mis-management issue is it that they can't even keep their one core menu item in stock after only four hours of being open?
I realize this is 2020. Maybe the corporate delivery truck driver blew up somewhere on the interstate and couldn't make this week's delivery, but seriously, it would be like a Chick-fil-A store running out of chicken or a McDonald's store running out of hamburgers! That is just a classic, hard-core bad management issue.
I didn't even go there for a hot dog. I was specifically drawn into this Weinerschnitzel location for the chain's advertisement of a pumpkin spice milkshake.
I love the Fall because it brings pumpkin spice flavored everything, and I absolutely love pumpkin spice! Go ahead and judge me. I'm okay with that. My friends judge me, too, but I stand resolutely by my love of the pumpkin spice!
So the world's largest hot dog chain runs out of hot dogs? I don't really care. I can order some non-hot dog menu items off the menu and try my first-ever Weinerschnitzel pumpkin spice milkshake, right? After all, that's the seasonal menu item I most desire anyway!
Wrong! This store also cannot make any milkshakes, either! Apparently they clean their milkshake machine every other day. That's actually a very good thing! I like the restaurants I patronize to follow a rigorous cleaning schedule that either meets or exceeds state health inspection requirements.
But you mean to tell me that management at this Midvale Weinerschnitzel location cannot figure out a schedule to clean their milkshake equipment on a schedule that does not negatively impact their sales in the middle of business operations on a Saturday???
They have advertisements posted on the exterior of the store for their candy flavored milkshakes and the seasonal pumpkin spice milkshakes are advertised on the drive-thru menu, but they cannot actually sell any milkshakes because this store location is unable to actually MAKE them!
Management doesn't think it might be worth bringing an employee in for one extra hour early on a particular day to clean the milkshakes machine just so it is available for another menu item that is supposedly a popular menu item that might be ordered somewhat frequently?
No, management would rather lose revenue to local competition because they cannot make a comparable product to other local chains.
Hey Weinerschnitzel management, do you know who else in the area also offers pumpkin spice milkshakes this time of the year? McDonald's, DQ, and Culver's just to name a few! In fact, there's a McDonald's store literally on the other side of 900 E directly across from your store location! Standing at the front door of your location, you can see the line of cars going through the McDonald's drive-thru across the street!
I don't know if the management of this particular Weinerschnitzels just simply doesn't care at all about having a very low quality of service, if my expectations of Weinerschnitzel were just a bit too high, or if the manager of this particular location is just really inexperienced, but it certainly reflects VERY poorly on me for the entire Weinerschnitzels brand.
There's simply too much other competition in the immediate local area to waste my time with poor management at...
Read moreUpon entering the drive thru (Dec 22 about 9pm) I was greeted with a sign that stated: "danger! Entering the fast lane!" Well let me tell you that warning was far from accurate, it should have read, hope your not in a hurry.....I ordered one chili cheese dog, a chili cheese tamale also a strawberry Pinnapple lemonade...... Little did I know id be in the drive thru for just shy of 20 mins!?....I figured with only 2 cars in front of me this wouldn't be possible, maybe that car had a huge order.... No, i only saw one bag delivered to the driver, next car same thing, finally my turn, as I pull up to the window I'm not immediatel greeted, but after almost 2 minds I'm greeted with a less than enthusiastic "I'll be back with your order" after all this time id figured it'd be ready long before I reached the window. As I sorry there with a line building behind me I'm starting to feel like the guy holding up the line... What could possibly be talking so long?.... Finally given my order after what seemed like an eternity only to be told, they are working on your lemonade............. They? How many people does it take to or a drink? And why isn't it made already? Finally get the drink drive away with out so much as being told sorry for the wait, trying to hurry and make up time as I'm supposed to be on my way to pick up my fiance. Finally get to eat only to realize my "drink" is nothing more hardly than ice and some chunks of fruit at the bottom, literally drank about 2 1/2 gulps before there was no more liquid. I can but an entire Bag of ice for less than what I paid for this drink. The tamale was not great.... Just kinda a bad tamale covered in the regular chili and cheese. And the cheese wasnt hardly even melted... Same on the hot dog, usually the dogs are nuclear hot for what seems like forever before they cool down but not this one.... Apparently the chili wasn't even warm enough to melt it and the hot dog was cold, not like it cooled down cold, like the texture was that of never was completely cooked to begin with. As much as I love this franchise I will absolutely go out of my way to not stop at this one ever again and I'll be sure to spread the...
Read moreI love Weinerschnitzel, and was very excited when my boyfriend said that's what he wanted for dinner tonight. I went to this particular location to pick up our order, and was very displeased with my overall experience, which was honestly probably my fault, because we have had negative experiences here before. First off, They had gotten rid of something that he wanted me to order for him. Which, I get it. It happens. And usually, it's a company thing, not a store thing. It was just frustrating when I had to sit there and figure out what else he would have wanted. I proceeded to order something else I thought he would want, and when I got to my order, I decided I wanted one of the new Nutter Butter shakes they were advertising all over the building. I asked for one, and was told they were out... Okay, I get that too. I've worked several customer service jobs, and you run out of stuff. Whatever. I ordered something else that I wanted, and when I got to the window, they took my money and then kept me waiting for about ten minutes when I was the only one there. However, after time, cars started lining up behind me. I'm sure that they were getting frustrated as well. At this point, I was starting to get upset. But finally, they got my food to me, and I brought it home. We sat down for dinner, and I realised, they had messed up my order after all that. I specifically asked for "no mustard", and they had smothered it in mustard. It's literally all I could smell, and mustard is probably the mildest scent of all of those ingredients on this particular menu item. I was so upset that I didn't even feel like eating it at that point. All I ate were my fries, which also weren't very good, because the cheese that was on them wasn't even melted because it was so stale. After spending over thirty bucks on two "fast food" meals, I could barely eat any of mine. I don't think I'll be going back to...
