Still had a craving for Japanese after getting back from my trip to Japan last week, and I heard great things about this place so I decided to check it out
Atmosphere: 3/5 They have a really good vibe with the lanterns and the chefs cooking the sushi, but no counter/bar to sit at as a solo diner, so I had to sit at a 4 seat table which was a little awkward.
Service: 5/5 Quick and efficient service, I was sat almost immediately and they were not delaying with the food or check. Very impressed
Food: I tried 3 different items as I came very hungry, and had mixed results.
Unagi Nigiri: 3/5 honestly not that fresh or tasty as I would have liked. It was fine, but didnāt taste great, but thatās probably to be expected for the inland state weāre in
Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen: 3.5/5 The noodles and pork were tasty, but the broth was a little watered down, so that was disappointing. Didnāt taste any spice for the spicy bowl either so I probably should have asked for some chili powder.
Okonomiyaki: 5/5 the real star of the show here! Tasted just like the ones I got at the izakaya restaurant in Osaka. Perfectly savory and impressed me more than I expected.
Price: 5/5 The prices here really cannot be beat. I ended up paying around $30 for the meal which included 3 items and a beverage, since the most expensive item was only $12 for the ramen. $9 for the large Okonomiyaki is the reason Iāll be back.
Overall: 4/5 Food was fairly good and definitely scratched that itch I had for some real Japanese food. Iāve heard the sushi is even better so Iāll have to try that next time. Main reasons Iām giving 4 instead of 5 stars is no bar/counter service and slightly disappointing eel and ramen broth. Other than that,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time eating here. Dined in for dinner. Parking is limited, but so is everything as you get closer to Salt Lake City.
This place looks tiny on the outside but has plenty of seating on this inside. There is a ton of staff to ensure youāll get helped quickly and they are all very friendly. They greet you on the way in and thank you on the way out.
We got a Bento Box with Teriyaki Steak and a Tempura Shrimp roll. The roll is 6 pieces as itās in a meal instead of a standalone, which is no issue. The price is fair/maybe a dollar too high for what you get but I think itās worth it. The flavors were good and itās a decent amount of food. My only suggestion is for them to give a little more teriyaki sauce because some pieces seemed dry. Someone in my party got the teriyaki chicken and Iād advise against that because the meat looked super dry.
We also got the Godzilla roll and a Sunset roll. The prices were good compared to most of Utah. I loved the Godzilla roll but itās definitely not for everyone. It reminded me of a sweet and savory mayo mixture. The sunset roll was your typical roll, however ours had a bone still left in one of the salmon pieces. If you know me, youād know I try tons of different sushi places⦠however I have NEVER gotten a bone in my fish. Iām sure this was a fluke, but in case itās not, it led me to dropping a star on the food side of things.
Overall, I really enjoyed this experience and will likely return in the future. I just hope that those preparing the food are taking their time with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad to change my review to 1 star unfortunately . I've been a customer since Itto opened up a few years ago, I even have my personalized chop sticks with them , it used to be my go to spot for meetings and celebrations because I loved the customer service and the food . However since they expanded and Itto the owner is not in this location anymore , the staff got extremely rude . I went to get sushi with my family , and I noticed one of the sushi rolls I had ordered never got delivered to us , but was still being charged on the bill , I then called the waiter and asked about the roll , she was so rude and said "I know for a fact I gave it to you " with a lot of attitude , well luckily I had taken a photo of our sushi rolls and then had proof that it had been their mistake , once I showed her the picture , she started acting all weird and said she would get that roll started as a to go order . Personally I was shocked at the disrespect it was showed to me , It was not the first time the staff spoke back to me , After this I went back one more time and the staff as soon as I paid for my good , "politely " asked me to leave because they needed their table , I have NEVER been in a restaurant where I paid to be there asked me to leave right after me paying , it was rude and made me feel uncomfortable for even being at the table in first place. Needless to say I never will set foot at this place EVER AGAIN , It doesn't matter how good your sushi is and how fresh , if your...
