On our way back from visiting in the Savannah area we decided to take the "scenic route" back home along, mostly, US Hwy 80 and then, in Dublin, up US Hwy 441 to Milledgeville before heading home. Along the way we stopped to take photos of many of the county courthouses we had not yet seen in Georgia. While in Milledgeville, we stopped in to have lunch at The Brick. This is right on the main street through "historic" down town area just a block off the Georgia College campus. The establishment appears to pretty much cater to the college crowd and those, I presume, who work at the College or attendant businesses. It's got a pretty cool vibe with brick interior walls that have had whatever plaster or other covers that were on it removed to expose the old brick, and high ceilings painted black to so the HVAC ducts, etc., blend in and are practically invisible. There are tables right at the windows that front the street, with a beautiful bar situated a few feet to the inside running down about a third of the interior seating space. They've got about a half dozen craft beers on tap and then another half dozen of the usual suspects of big brewery beers on tap. They apparently rotate the craft beers out, but had a nice selection today. My wife had their meatball "grinder" and I had their wings (hot). Both were excellent, as were the fries that came with my wife's sandwich. The prices were actually surprisingly low, but the quality was top notch. All in all they get an A+ from me. I just wish they weren't 80 miles away from where I live.

Awesome food and waitress!! Great atmosphere! We went to The Brick for lunch. There were three people in our party. When we arrived we were not greeted at the door by the hostess. Which should have given me an indication as to how our later interaction would go. I asked the hostess about a booth at the front window because there were two empty ones. She said its closed. We put our name on the waiting list. The wait was 10 minutes which was not bad because the place was quite busy. We were taken to a table to be seated and the hostess was rather disgruntled when I asked if we could sit at one of the empty booths rather than a table in the middle. Once we were seated, our waitress, Dani, promptly came to the table to take our drink order. When she returned, we asked for suggestions. She was knowledgeable about the menu and offered several great suggestions. We followed her suggestions and for an appetizer we ordered a half order of the sausage stuffed sticks. They did not disappoint. For our entrees my husband ordered the Brick Chick with a side of fries. The Brick Chick was served on a hoagie roll with chicken, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, and tomato. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich which was served on sourdough bread with chicken, roasted red peppers, pesto, mayo, and a slice of provolone. Our daughter ordered the boneless Buffalo wings with a basket of fries. All of the food was delicious! Dani was an awesome waitress and made our experience enjoyable!

Both locations produced consistent food that drew big crowds from the local high school/military college kids in the original location, and the second location in Macon had less of a young family feel and more like a hangout for more trendy graduate students and professionals in their twenties. Portions were very generous, the drink specials at the bar made for boisterous happy hours. Service was always, in my experience, efficient and friendly, and handled the commonly heavy dinner traffic very well. I generally do not like pizza at all, but there were other choices on the menu that I found to satisfy my hunger. Good for families and big groups.

Very unwelcoming and RACIST, my boyfriend and I arrived at the establishment just a few minutes after 6pm, we were both excited to try a new place, we were seated promptly, I took forever for the waitress to take our drink order, we were ready to order our food when she finally took the drink order, at that time about 10-15 minutes went by before our drinks finally came out and another party walked in and took a seat, the waitress quickly took their order and brought out their drinks all in less than 5 minutes, she took their order, then I noticed the other table receiving their meals meanwhile my boyfriend and I are still waiting for her to take our order, another large party walks in and she takes their drink order, food order, then she finally takes our order, the second large party gets their meals, we are still waiting (it's only 2 of us) ...the waitress kept glaring at me from across the room, she was avoiding us like the plague, she would only ask the other tables if the needed more refills on their drinks, meanwhile my boyfriend and I were out of drinks, by then we have been there an hour and a half, we still haven't received our food, after noticing what was happening, we no longer wanted to continue to wait, i would also like to mention a 3rd large party that walked in and were getting service. By then I told the waitress I wanted the check, she tried to make an excuse that the kitchen was backed up, how is it possible that the kitchen is backed up when the 2 large parties that came in way after have already received their food and finished eating, explain that to me, make it make sense, there is only one explanation, they staff is racist and didn't want to serve us, let alone did they want us in their establishment unless it was to go, after about another 10 minutes passed by and she finally brings us our check and the dinner we ordered in Togo boxes, we had already declined the food, they probably had it in togo boxes the whole time, don't worry after our horrible experience, we refused to take the toxic food with us, if you're anything other than Caucasian, you are not welcome there, that's our 1st and last time we will be there, we will be sure to warn all of our non Caucasian...

Came in with my girlfriend, say down immediately. Then 10 minutes later a group of about 6-8 came in and sat down. They took their drink order first and then came and took ours. Before she walked away I told her that I would like an appetizer. The spinach and artichoke dip. Then their drink order and appetizers came out. Then another big group say down behind them and she immediately took their order. Then she went back to the other table avoiding us altogether. She took their order and then went and took the other table order. At this point we had been ready before she brought our drinks out. But didn't bother to ask if we were ready to order. Then the two tables got their food, and she still hasn't taken out order. At this point we had been there 45 minutes and I was getting tired of sitting so long. Then she finally took our order and another 30 minutes later she came out and said the kitchen was backed up. Which maybe so, but how come she got other people's orders and their food after they came in later than us to tell us the kitchen was backed up. What else bothered my girlfriend is that she kept staring at her from across the restaurant. Like as if she didn't want to serve someone of Hispanic descent ( I'm a white guy and she would only talk to me when she came over). Then when we just asked for the check and told her that we didn't want the food anymore. Suddenly the food was ready and they didn't charge us for that and gave it to us in to go plates. We didn't even want the food anymore. We just paid for the drinks and our appetizers and left. First time...
