Sheng Kee Bakery #4 - Milpitas — Restaurant in Milpitas

This review is for the service. I went to pick up the cake which I ordered 2 days ago. There were two ladies at the front desk who seemed to know nothing about the orders they received. Here is what happened. I first told them my name and that I was there to pick up my cake. They asked for the order number. I gave them the ordered number and then they asked my phone number. I gave them my phone number but unfortunately they didn’t seem to understand. I repeated my number again. The younger lady told me 1) they can’t give me the cake without phone number, and 2)my order is for tomorrow which is absolutely wrong. I was there at the right pickup time and I had told them the correct name, order number, and phone number. In the end, I got my cake without any apologies. The owner and her daughter (i assume) seem to be very sloppy and impolite. I haven’t tried the cake yet but I don’t think I will ever order from this...

Unfortunately a very horrible experience. I ordered a birthday cake online, prepaid and selected date & time for pick up. When I showed up the day to pick up they questioned me and had no knowledge of what I ordered. They just gave me the display cake. Not what I ordered. I has my email confirmation with receipt printed out and they still didn't believe me and questioned me that I was in wrong place. I also had to use the restroom while they were busy and was rudely told no, there's nothing. It was just the way I was treated that was very upsetting. I like these bakeries, though I've only been to this one once and to their larger one somewhere near the San Jose area a few other times as well. It is actually the larger bakery that is pleasant to newcomers given it has 4 times the diversity of products. This smaller one as a satellite does not represent their entire product line as it seems to me. I am not a local to the San Jose area but I do visit once a year every year for the past 14 years, and that is how I know of their larger bakery.
