Today I went to this restaurant to eat one of my favorite fish soup dishes, that I had ordered in the past. But this time, the dish had a funny smell from the beginning, which was different from the previous times I ordered this dish. We were suspecting that some ingredient was not fresh may be, and after trying to eat the dish for 5 minutes, we figured out that the fish was smelling bad. We informed the waitress and she took the food in the kitchen, but promptly emerged later to tell us that nothing was wrong with the dish. We thought maybe we were wrong and so we tried to keep eating. But soon I bit into a piece of fish that just smelled rotten and this time I was sure that the fish was bad. So I informed the waitress again, and this time she said that all their fish were the same, and left us at the table. Finally after sitting there for 5 minutes, we asked her again what we should do and this time we were told that we could leave without paying. So we left. This experience left us disappointed. Read moreI’m writing this comment to recommend this restaurant to all people who are interested in north eastern Chinese food, from where I was born and raised 长春. It is so far the best restaurant I’ve ever had that cook my hometown food right. For years I’ve been looking for restaurant that could remind me of home cooking and I found it here at last. In my hometown there is a famous dish called 锅包肉 that i never had a good place to go for ever since I came to US. I found it very surprising that the dish here cooked tastes exactly like the restaurant that is near my home in China.
For people who are looking for a good place to go for good Chinese food and hospitality atmosphere, you won’t regret by coming here.
Plenty of parking space and the host is always kind to others. I will definitely come back here more often whenever I’m thinking of home, and I’ll always be hungry for more...
Read moreSpicy Way promises to be a Sichuan and Hunan style restaurant but ultimately fails at being either. I wish I had trusted my first instinct rather than favorable online reviews when trying this place out. The dining room was empty when I entered at 11:30, which isn't a good sign since many good Bay Area restaurants get packed well before then. I ordered chilly chicken skewers, twice cooked pork, green pepper fish fillets, and sauteed string beans. What came as chilly chicken skewers was an absolute insult. 80% of the skewers were not substantial pieces of chicken meat, but quail eggs, assorted vegetables, chicken feet. You seriously serving this garbage for $25? Twice cooked pork had very little meat compared to the quantity of cabbage. And fish fillets were rather flavorless without the soup broth. Ended up spending $100+ tax+tip...
