Very thankful for their parking lot in an otherwise street parking only area. Interior is very colorful as with many Mexican restaurants. They have a sky painted on their ceiling, perhaps to go along with their name, literally translated as "beautiful sky". First batch of chips and salsa comes complimentary as you're browsing the menu. In general their taco meats don't feel totally authentic and they skip all the exotic meat options and stick to good old pork, steak, chicken or ground beef. They also default to tacos with lettuce and tomatoes, but will ask if you want cilantro and onions. So I usually skip the tacos here and go for their plates. Molcajete is wonderful. It's got everything you want in a stone bowl and it goes a long way. The Bistec Perron, skirt steak with onions and jalapeño peppers (actually, just one pepper), has become one of my go-to Mexican dishes since being on keto, and is pretty delicious here. Menudo - I try this dish at all my favorite Mexican restaurants. I still haven't found a place that makes it as good as I remember it from California, but Cielito's menudo is the best one I've found in Milwaukee (and Racine, where my otherwise favorite Mexican restaurant lies). A steady favorite!

Ok food. Slow yet, rushed for their interest, not the costumer's interest. Rude service. We waited long for server to take our order. Were rushed when ordering. The place was not crowded. The food came out quick as you can see the cooks working fast. We asked for the check before we even finished our food so that it would give them time. We finished and waited about 30 minutes. Another lady started cleaning our table we asked again for our check. 15 minutes later most f our party left only me and my boyfriend sat waiting for the check. The table was already cleaned. I got up to use the restroom and once inside I heard the lady saying we were trying to leave with out paying. My boyfriend was offended and said he was still waiting on the check. Later we decided to walk to the register and ask for our check again. Our server took her time walked around Nd then said the lady at the register would have our check and would charge us. We waited another 5 minutes to pay. As we walked out, our server mumbled under her breath. Because of this, I would not return or recommend this place to anyone. Go spend your hard earned money where they appreciate it.

The food here is below average and not worth finishing. I’m pretty surprised with all the high ratings for this place. The chips and salsa were standard. No complaints. The guacamole was okay but had no salt or lime in it. I got a regular pork burrito. First red flag was when I saw the radioactive red grease seeping out of the burrito. Typically when it’s THAT red it is not good in my experience. The meat was chewy and absent of flavor and overly greasy (see my picture for reference). That’s pretty shocking to me considering tomato, lettuce, sour cream, and beans are all mellow flavors—you’d think the flavor of the pork would be more apparent. If they were making an attempt to serve al pastor they completely missed the mark. I thought maybe I ordered the wrong thing so I tried rice and beans from a friend’s plate and there was no flavor on the rice and the beans tasted like water. The others in my party shared similar opinions with their orders as well. Service was decent. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I really liked the environment of the space too, but the food here is not it.

I really don't like leaving negative reviews, especially for small businesses. However, I gave this place three tries because, on the surface, it is usually the kind of place I tend to enjoy - clean, small and seemingly authentic. I'll start with the good - the restaurant seems to be clean, and that is important. The house salsa is also very good. That is pretty much where the good part of my review ends. I ordered a steak chimichanga on 2 out of my 3 visits there, and both times, there was A LOT of grizzle in the steak. The steak also lacked seasoning and flavor both times. The third time, I got enchilladas and they were small and tasteless, even with the sauce on top. I thought $6 for chips and salsa to go was a lot, but the chips were a generous portion and the salsa was decently sized. But the final straw for me was, on my last visit, I noticed what appears to be microwaved rice and beans. The bottom of my styrofoam dish was melted and it looks as though the rice and beans were microwaved too long. When I saw that, I threw out the rest of my dish and vowed not to return. It is a shame - the lady who took my order each time I went there was...
