Gordo’s Bubble Waffles | Marquette — Restaurant in Milwaukee

First off - the treats/desserts are okay, but nothing mind blowing or special. However the issue is - the staff are unfriendly and unwelcoming?? None of the four employees said a single hello or how are you despite being one of two people in there when we walked in. This isn’t a super big deal, but then the woman taking our order didn’t smile or say a single word the entire time. The three men also did not smile or respond when we said thank you or anything like that. Just for an example, we asked for a lid and I said please and thank you to which no one replied to or even acknowledged me; just handed it to me. We actually just ate in the car because it was that unfriendly.

This may not bother some people and that’s perfectly okay! But I’m not the first person to leave this type of review either. This isn’t something I usually am put off by, but it was that noticeable that the vibe was unwelcoming and uncomfortable. Okay - who goes for ice cream on a very very cold night?? I DO!!!! So we went to Gordo’s Bubble Waffles and wow - was it amazing! First, they have soooo many delicious options to choose from. We opted to get the bubble light and fluffy waffles instead of the standard waffle cone which were literally perfect. We got the Turtle Sundae waffle which included whipped cream, cherries, pecans, chocolate syrup and cookies and cream ice cream, and the Biscoff waffle sundae included whipped cream, caramel, cherries, crumbled Biscoff cookies and butter pecan ice cream. OMG - AMAZING!!! You can get the waffle sundaes in a box or a cone shaped container. In my opinion, this place is the best place for specialty ice cream sundaes. If you can’t eat it all in one sitting, you can refrigerate the remaining waffle and warm it up in the microwave or air fryer. We ordered the strawberry cheesecake waffle and got it in a box rather than a cone. The staff was friendly and our order was ready quickly. The portion size was more than enough for two people to share and it was easy to eat in the box - I imagine the cone may be a bit more messy. It was really tasty and the flavors were balanced well - no one element overwhelmed the dish and it was a nice combination of strawberry drizzle, ice cream, whipped cream, and cheesecake pieces all pulled together with the warm waffle. Don’t count on dining in. There were large groups of people standing around, making it impossible to utilize the few available tables.
