I recently visited your restaurant and was charged a higher amount than what was listed on both your website and your on-site menu. I ordered a Combo #2 (three pieces of perch and three chicken wings) which was advertised at $17.99, but I was charged $18.99. I also ordered two Reuben rolls, listed at $2.00 each, but was charged $2.50 each.
When I asked the gentleman at the window about the price difference, he said he didn’t know because he was “just a bagger.” When I requested to speak with a manager, he told me to consider tax, which I explained I already had. I pointed out that the prices I was charged were higher than the ones clearly stated on both your posted and online menus.
The gentleman then made inappropriate remarks, including, “This is a Black-owned business, and y’all always looking for something for free.” I want to make it clear that I was not asking for anything free—I simply expected to be charged the listed menu prices. Instead, I was overcharged by $2, and my concern was dismissed rather than resolved.
This is very disappointing and unprofessional. If your prices have changed, they should be updated on both your website and posted menus so that customers are not misled. I also believe staff should be trained to handle customer concerns respectfully and professionally.
Because of this experience, I will not be returning to...
Read moreThe staff there are extra rude and unprofessional. First time pulling in and it was to pick up an order for delivery. No one was at the first window and the female that was inside didn't acknowledge me so I figured I needed to pull around to the second window. After waiting about 10 minutes for them to handle the two cars ahead of me, I finally get to the second window. I'm sitting there for about two minutes and neither the female working nor the young man, who is now sitting at the first window acknowledge me - they were both on their phones. A couple more workers are milling about and an older gentleman finally comes to the window. He asks the female about the order and she answers, snarkily that, "she ain't gat it." He then asks the young man at the first window, who then looks around and located the order. First, he had the audacity to bring the bag to the window like it was anything other than someone's meal. He then proceeds to say, "this ain't it but take it anyway." After the look I gave him, he says, nah, this it. I took the bag and it looked like everybody in there had handled the corned beef and then wiped their hands on the bag as they crunched the bag up. I have never eaten here and after the service doing a delivery order,...
Read moreToday July 31 at 5:40 PM I order from Mae Velma’s The first thing that went wrong was, I ordered a four piece perch dinner gave the young lady my card to swipe however she swiped it once, She did not tell me that my chip did not read or had an error so I asked her when I got to the second window because the charges came through my Apple Watch, she stated she swiped it a second time now I have double charges when I questioned her about it she stated they’re both only pending they will only charge me one time I said OK. The point is she should have told me instead of re-swiping and now I have two charges. The second thing when I got around to get to my food I sat there for a half an hour which I’m not complaining about because I got fresh food however the food that I got was not the perch dinner I ordered they actually gave me four pieces of catfish fillet. By this time I was irritated so I decided to just go ahead and take the fish because I was already upset about the charges and I left the point of the matter is they could have told me there was no more perch and the card in my chip read error. I believe the young lady was too busy talking with the other employees to...
