Didn't know that there is no refund until I had a problem, the short bald black guy was quick to rell me that. The lightskin woman who was the manager wasn't any better. I moved out of Milwaukee awhile back so we were visiting and I remember that speed queen, Jake's, Solly, and a few others that is famous in Milwaukee, I made a list, so we went to speed queen today and the customer service was horrible. I order $53 worth of food, half of shoulder, half of turkey, box of fries, and pick 3. Shoulder had pieces of bread but the turkey didn't so I asked if the turkey come with bread, they said that both don't come with bread and that the new cook put bread with shoulder. I wanted a refund and that's when the black told me that I don't get a refundand wound just have to take the food and that's it. The manager walked by twice while we were go back and forth and then she came to window and didn't help the situation at all, I just aked her if I could get two slices of bread with the turkey because the shoulder came with it and her reply was that no matter what I say that she wasn't giving me any bread, so after a back and forth with her she allowed me to switch for the same price. The half of turkey is $17 and I decided on other pick 3 for $14. I told the manager that I still have $3 leftover and she said that she gave me the half of turkey with the 2sides and cornbread for the total price, which I then explained to her that she could have just given me the bread because for the same price she gave me sides and cornbread, which let me know that customer service is a thing of the past, the bread would have been cheaper and easier and would have displayed good customer service, but she really didn't think it would, when I explained that to her she said that if customer don't know what comes with the food that's the customer problem by not asking not that the employees responsibility. I leave Monday to go back to Texas and I just want whoever reads the comments to be aware. No refund is the sign for bad customer service, employees getting things wrong or not explaining what comes with food. This place is off list of restaurants to visit.
I read reply from owner and I can tell that the reply is just a put the blame on customer, because what the manager left out was that I repeatedly told the her that I wasn't yelling and I even apologized to her if she felt like I was yelling, I even told her with my hands up letting her know that I was not trying to aggressive, and after she told me that she wasn't going to give me anything(bread). I was just trying to get a understand of how the beef had bread and the turkey didn't. But it's my fault because I haven't been in so long I should have read reviews before going. If the owner is truly reading reviews writing responses, you don't care about the business it's to many bad reviews about bad customer service and horrible food...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI will start saying that I have been a long time customer who has enjoyed your BBQ for almost 30 years. I have even sat in the drive-thru for almost an hour during the heightened point during the pandemic. With all that said, I would like to offer my most sincere feedback on my last couple of experiences and my free advice as a business consultant/strategist. Overall, my last 3 experiences have been pretty disappointing- from the difficulty in getting to the restaurant due to construction to the obvious smaller portions to the watered down bbq sauce. Each visit, spending $50 or more... this is unacceptable. Today, I stopped to purchase one shoulder dinner (which now offers choices) and a rib tip dinner with extra meat (or that's what I was told). I don't understand why there's a speaker system with such poor quality at a restaurant that has made millions of dollars. The cashier was difficult to hear and seemed distracted by conversation with another coworker about another order. (Consider starting with a recording like many other restaurants) She stopped me-mid order and proceeded to talk to her coworker (unprofessional). Fast forward- I get home to open the dinners and to my disappointment, I am astonished by the size of the portions. Reminder, I asked for extra meat- an upcharge! One thing you don't do as a company is create a perception within your customers that they aren't receiving a "good value". Not only was the portion size noticeably smaller but the container is now approximately half the size of the original.... my "extra meat" dinner only covered the bottom of the container in one layer... barely! See picture.... The shoulder dinner was even worse. From a professional business consultant perspective, your decision to implement such changes at the same time or very close together give the perception that I ( as a customer) am paying more for less. This is not okay and does not go over well from customers. I am not sure if this was a strategic approach to increase earnings/profits but may impact the perception of quality, quantity and value. Additionally, the meat was very fatty and included overcooked pieces that were unconsumable. This speaks to the perception of quality in your product. For many years, this business has thrived due to the taste, consistency and the value- now this has become questionable. Your reputation is on the line and your time as a well- respected establishment may be limited. As a local business consultant, I am willing to provide you with a free consultation on your company's stategy. Best of luck- I hope to return some day but for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI never do it out of reviews. I want you critical of a place, but this time I have to speak with prices went up. That's fine, why do all the food taste like sugar the greens get too much sugar in it. I normally go there for the lovely corn bread, but it tastes like a corn bread cupcake, too much sugar and it wasn't a Jiffy corn. mixed with regular corn bread you make from scratch the yellow corn meal. I normally go there to get that when I make a big pot of beans. I won't ever be going there again. I asked specific questions. Having diabetics and a family and having another high Blood Pressure, with certain people and the family, I don't want to feed people that and if they don't have high blood pressure diabetes, I'm not trying to give it to him all their food tastes like sugar. I know a lot of people put sugar in greens, people out of salt on food because they don't know how to seize and cook naturally that's why we all have a lot of high Blood Pressure, sugar, diabetes, strokes and heart attacks off the poor cooking of food from people. Especially a restaurant you can put salt and pepper on his side and people can put. I'm extremely disappointed and the lovely corn beer is beautifully made. I've been going there for quite some time to get cornbread muffins. When I made my big pot of beans it tastes like sugar. I got an extra corn bread. Also, all that food is going in the garbage. On top of that, I had the Riptide for no sauce on it. Cause some people in the family can't have this sugar cause you're a diabetic or a digestive eater of why you're that, so derivatives are very nice. They were good, they were hardly seasoned, but they tasted great. You gotta change the way you cook food but I guess a lot of people readiness enjoy a lot of sweet sugar on inappropriate food food that it should be honest, that's the way people fix it. And that's where the family fixed it. That's not appropriate to eat. So being a healthy person myself, I don't mind Going Out for some food. Once in a while, at a black restaurant who overcooks their food and always want to serve it out of Pasta, macaroni and food are not good for eating weight and people know you're just gonna learn how to eat differently but I eat differently and I won't be going here anymore. I do not want sweet corn bread. Cupcake, I can buy it at the store and greens has sugar in it. So if I were order something else on my food or taste like sugar. How do you tell a difference in the flavor your food? A bunch of sugar and salt? I'll be taking my meal back to get my money back. Or I'll call the healthy part...
