Brewhouse's lack of ability to accommodate a guarantee for early check-in prior to 4:00 lost business of 11 rooms. Some were cancelled through our block, one through a hotel website and one that was about to book but I told them to book elsewhere. My wedding started at 4:00 Saturday and while I offered to alleviate any cleaning of the check ins from Friday to allow for cleaning of the rooms for our guests on Saturday, I was told that wouldn't make a difference. From the appearance of the rooms, I'm not sure what the issue would have been since there was a good layer of dust on things and doesn't appear the ottoman or couch had ever been moved and cleaned under. When I moved the ottoman there were small penis glitter from a bachelorette party. When I moved the couch for photos in my dress, I had to clean up the mess underneath of garbage, a couch pin, dust bunnies, etc... Being that I stayed in the biggest and most expensive room on site with the appearance it was, I could only imagine what was being done to the other smaller rooms that would discourage early check-in.
Nicole was quick to remind me that I had signed a contract for the block that clearly stated 4:00 was check in to which I kindly remind you that that is likely the last thing on a bride's mind when she's finding a hotel when her wedding time-line hasn't even remotely been approached. Then told me that my guests could drop their stuff off and go directly to the wedding and check in after the wedding. My guests are coming in from out of state... all of them.
A month prior to the wedding a guest called worried about the check-in time and the conflict with the wedding start time. When I called and was not able to reach Nicole, Caitlyn gave me the same shpeal she gave my guests when calling which I assume is the standard trained to them to state. I told her that this was the only thing that had gone wrong and was panicking me to which she became curt with me and stated she was just put a note on all 17 reservations (at the time) that early check-in would be expected. While I was only asking for Saturday's guests I thanked her and was then hung up on!
One week to my wedding... After this conversation you could imagine my surprise when another guest called later and told me that there was nothing notated on the reservations about early check-in. So I called and again, Nicole could not be reached and Caitlyn answered. I asked her about the notation and she gave me the same shpeal she'd given me before. I called her out that it was clear she had tried to just appease me and get me off the phone last time by telling me she'd add a note. Suddenly she became very nice and offered to have Nicole call me back the next day. Mid-day I had to call Nicole. Same shpeal reiterated to me which just told me that the Brewhouse could care less and had no intention of helping in any way. I called and escalated it to Carol as well, same thing. Again, crystal clear that there was no care of the business I advised would be lost. I then called all guests who only had Saturday check-in and advised what the issue was and advised that our other hotel did not only have 3:00 check-in, but was more than willing to accommodate early check-in. You lost their business to another hotel. Had my photographer not called and told me she wanted to do the first look and wedding party photos at Brewhouse, the entire wedding party would have cancelled with Brewhouse as well. But, being that the staff made it clear that there wasn't a care in the world about losing business, I doubt it would have effected you in any way.
While the property was beautiful - it's all about the experience and this was not a pleasant one and I would not return nor would I suggest it for a wedding...
Read moreMy now-husband and I chose this hotel for ourselves (bride+groom), our wedding party, our parents, and a room block for our guests for our wedding weekend. Unfortunately, this hotel let us down in every way imaginable. No couple deserves this level of disappointment for a wedding weekend and I strongly urge anyone looking for a seamless wedding experience to look elsewhere.
We reported each of the below issues to the hotel as they occurred and again after our wedding weekend ended. We never received an apology, explanation, or any other attempt to make things better. Jennifer in Sales told me after a phone conversation discussing these issues that she would follow up with me, but she never did.
It is clear this hotel does not care about its wedding couples, despite having told us multiple times as issues occurred that weddings were its biggest source of revenue.
During our wedding weekend, the following issues occurred:
-The night before our wedding, me and my now-husband were locked outside of our room. Neither our key card nor the master key card that the front desk had worked. The front desk associate laughed as I sat on the floor crying. I was exhausted and upset that my wedding dress and all the items for my wedding the next day were in the room that we were locked out of. After an hour, an "engineer" came and opened our door with a crowbar. The "engineer" mocked me in front of my wedding party and fiance's parents for crying and being upset about being locked out of the room the night before the wedding. The assistant general manager - Chris - also came up and did nothing to help, nor did he offer anything to make up for the fact that we had been sitting on the floor for over an hour locked out of our room.
-Trash was left outside our room for days and only cleared by Chris after the above events.
-My parents and my now-husband's brother were each given key cards for rooms that didn't exist, on two different check-in days.
-A member of the wedding party was given keys for a room that already had people in it. He was then told that the hotel was overbooked even though I had booked my wedding party rooms a year in advance.
-Another member of the wedding party was given keys for a room that had not yet been cleaned by housekeeping (unmade bed, etc.)
-The valet could not drive stick and my now-husband had to walk to and from the garage to get his own car; hotel still charged us for valet.
-Guests requested rooms next to one another for family members, were told they would have them, and then did not receive them upon arrival, leaving kids in one room and parents in another on a different floor.
-A guest received a phone call at 1:00 AM to the hotel phone in the room asking if the room was occupied, followed by a slew of texts checking her into the hotel.
-We were told--including in writing by email--that we would have early check-in for the wedding party; when we arrived, there was no early check-in and the front desk had no idea what we were talking about. This caused several people to be late to our rehearsal dinner.
-Every single room service order was wrong, both for the bridal getting ready suite and wedding party's individual orders.
-Ahead of the wedding, I was working with four different people - Libby, then AnnMarie, then Emma, finally Logan. I assume given the turnover at the hotel. However, with each new person, I had to catch them up on all the room reservations and food orders we had done--nobody had any idea what was going on. It was very frustrating. Out of all of them, only Emma was helpful. Libby was the worst of the bunch -- extremely rude and tried to dissuade me from doing a room block with the hotel. In hindsight, maybe I should have...
