I had the opportunity to check out the new location of Bom Dia Treats in Minneapolis, and this spot did not disappoint! I visited during a Yelp event where they served a Yelp-specific smoothie just for the occasion, and it was amazing. Right off the bat, I could tell how healthy it was. You could taste the protein powder, but they blended it so smoothly that it tasted great without being overly sweet like many smoothies out there. They really found the perfect balance.
We also got to try their açaí bowls, which were fantastic. The base was açaí, and they let you choose your own fruit toppings. I went with bananas and strawberries, and topped it off with dulce de leche—it was amazing!
I’ll definitely be back and am excited to see this location grow, especially since it's in such a convenient area of downtown Minneapolis. The only downside is the parking—it’s street parking, which can be a hassle, especially on game days or during big events downtown. But it’s definitely worth making the trip to check...
Read moreMy wife & I ordered the Bom Día Bowl ($12.50) and two iced oatmilk lattes. Our order was about $26 with those items.
The bowl was definitely better quality & flavor than say Nautical Bowls, but about the same price size-wise. (It roughly matches the medium size at Nautical Bowls). We LOVED the crushed granola in there - I’m picky with granola in my bowls but this was great. Their açaí base is also the BEST I’ve ever had; I’m glad it’s organic. I could have had a bowl of just their açaí.
Coffees were good - the roast is good and the flavor is strong even with the oatmilk cutting it. I was a little surprised how long it took for two lattes with no one else in the building, but they were good.
Atmosphere is nice too - the white interior makes it brighter with the windows. Seems like a chill place to do some homework or remote work with window seating available. And it’s fairly quiet.
We would definitely come back. The bowl was...
Read moreThe açai bowls are large and worth the amount (if comparing size to the cost). I created my own bowl and would modify it next time as I went a little ham on the selections.
Speaking of selections, the amount of toppings you get for the price you pay is also worth it (that's how I ended up going a bit overboard). I appreciate the quality of ingredients, the aesthetic of the presentation of food, the atmosphere and how pretty the place was, and the people working there. They brought out our orders to us with a smile and pleasant attitude and apologized for the wait (which was fine, I was finishing up my lunch and talking to a friend in the meantime). I'd definitely try it again with a friend, but just order my açai with a little less toppings...
