River Valley Church - City Campus — Attraction in Minneapolis

This was my second time visiting this church, and unfortunately, it turned into a very sad experience.

The first time I came, I took the train. This Sunday, I decided to drive. After the service, I didn’t realize that the parking voucher needed to be attached to the parking ticket. When I called for assistance, they confirmed that I had done it incorrectly and would need to pay with my Visa card.

I tried to insert my credit card, but for some reason, it wasn’t working. Meanwhile, as I struggled at the exit, other church members drove past me without stopping to ask if I needed help. Because I was holding up the line, all the cars behind me just moved to the other exit. I stood there for several minutes, stressed and unsure what to do—and to make it worse, my parking fee ended up doubling.

Finally, a kind young woman noticed and asked if I needed help. As soon as I opened my mouth to explain, I burst into tears. She circled back and handed me another ticket to use, and just like that, the gate opened.

While I’m so grateful for that one compassionate person, I left feeling incredibly disheartened. I had hoped a church community would be more attentive to someone clearly in distress. Kindness...

I had a troubling experience with a pastor at River Valley City, a branch of River Valley Church. During a online conversation where I was speaking against antisemitism—specifically rejecting the false claim that Jews hate Christians- the pastor from this location, Anthony David Cox, inserted himself into the discussion and told me that I could not be a Christian while defending Jews. When I disagreed and said his position was unbiblical, he responded by simply mocking me. I attempted to contact the church to raise concern, but they did not respond. My experience suggests this branch tolerates or endorses views that I find antisemitic and deeply unchristian. This church is amazing and the pastor preaches very encouragingly also graceful messages. The volunteers are so passionate about god and so much support. Though I have been visiting this church for the past three weeks, I'm so much loved to hang in there for worship for all the services, especially the worshiping and the drummer guy is so talented. Everyone in this church is humble and youth pastor prayers are heart touching through the holy spirit. Internship students are becoming so grateful like ambassadors of Christ.
