I was here for three nights for a conference. From what I could tell, the conference setup and service was all fine, although some details were missed but corrected. I didn't love the area immediately outside or how the manager handled a mistake the staff made. If you are attending an event at the Target Center, it might be good as that is right down the street, but I would not choose to stay here.||It is secure, as you need your key to go up in the elevator. The area across the street toward Nicollette Mall is a major bus transfer area. Lots of folks there hanging out, drinking, being disruptive, arguing, etc. While the SkyWalk is a maze, it is a safer way to walk around the immediate downtown area than some of the streets. ||I had no issues with the king room, everything worked, though it was a bit beat up. The interior rooms are quiet but face a large concrete light well, so you have no idea if the sun is up or not. Felt like a Brutalist jail view. So choices are a street view ("city view") and noise or wall view and quiet. Occasional noise from rooms next door and the hall but nothing major. Wifi kept dropping from my phone which was a bother.||I had a service issue with front desk and the manager. The conference had told attendees they would have breakfast vouchers in the rooms for use in the restaurant, as they couldn't accommodate a breakfast service in the meeting areas due to a large group attending. When I arrived, I asked for an interior room as I prefer quiet to street noise. Since they moved me I asked if that would mean I wouldn't have the voucher in the new room. They didn't know and said they would find out. When I came back, I was told that I should charge the breakfast in the restaurant to the room and they would take 15% off of the bill. So the next morning I did that, put $25 for an egg sandwich and coffee, then went to the conference rooms - and there was breakfast. My hosts said the large group cancelled so the hotel said they would do breakfast service. ||The night before I checked out, I explained to the person who had told me about needing to get breakfast at the restaurant what had happened. He had to ask the manager. When I came back I spoke with the manager who was surprisingly defensive and acted like it was my stupid fault because the restaurant is different than the meeting catering (though all part of the hotel). I explained that it was the staff error in telling me to waste money for breakfast. He offered me two drink tickets - I don't drink. They said I could get a mocktail. While that was something, there was no apology, which is what really made it unsatisfactory, or not offering take it off the bill. Not good service in my opinion. ||So for the location, I wouldn't stay here as I was panhandled almost every time I was out front of the hotel and the outside area didn't feel safe. If it was fine once I walked a few blocks north or east, but I would prefer another place if I was making the reservation. So while the staff were generally fine as was the room, two stars based on the surrounding area and the issue with the...
Read moreI liked the room. It was clean and it was definitely sanitized. The gentlemen concierge seemed like he was looking to engage into an argument with me. He was snappy, cut me off, and was not friendly. You have to ask him to explain something or he will just look at you impatiently. When I reserved our room I was asked if I preferred 2 beds and I said yes even though I ordered a king. I did not get 2 beds, that was not a problem. I didn't get an explanation why. I probably checked in around 4:30pm, so I wasn't very early nor was it so late to where most people have already checked in and there wasn't an option for us to get 2 beds. When we walked down the hall to our room there was large see through garbage bags full of dirty towels/linens, all down the hall at each room. Yet there wasn't a housekeeping cart on the floor. So the hotel just left these dirty bags outside of each room for the guests to walk past. There isn't free parking. You will be charged a double digit fee "daily" to park your car in their car garage. I did not know that until I checked out. There is also a decent sized pet fee, regardless if your animal is a behaved support animal. It seems Nothing comes with your stay other than the toiletries, attitude, wifi, and the tiny coffee bags in the room. I did not get my room cleaned the second day we were there, (I am not sure why the hotel did not clean our room but I am not upset about it) so I called at night and asked the front desk for more coffee for my room's coffee maker (because I needed to get up very early and I didn't want to bother them in the morning). They told me to call back later so the AM shift could help me. That is what I didn't like. There was no spa, pool, and the lady concierge could not point me to a decent spa to go to. I think I would have been treated better at a best western or the Hilton. The customer service here is horrible. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because the room was nice, clean, sanitized, location, and the employees wore masks. If you find this review helpful please give it a thumbs...
Read moreWe stayed here for the second time last night. Our first visit was earlier this year. Both stays were booked through the same 3rd party discount website. The first time we ended up in a standard king room. The stay was fine, nothing spectacular, but comfortable, quiet and a good value for the price.
Fast forward to our check in yesterday. We were told that since we booked through the discount website we would be given a two-queen bed room. We could, however, pay to upgrade to an executive business room with a king sized bed. This was supposed to be a relaxing, date night type stay, so we opted to upgrade. When we got to the room, it was identical to the room we stayed in last time. Annoying, but I guess Radisson needs the money. This morning we were woken by some obnoxiously loud banging noises over our heads. After the third round, my husband called down to the desk, and was told, "oh, yeah, that's the gym above you, someone probably just dropped some weights." Awesome. Thanks.
As for the other details of our stay, the bed was comfortable, but the pillows were horrible. Several hotels we've stayed in recently have been offering both firm and soft pillows for use (labeled on the pillowcases, even). It's a really nice touch. The room was clean, except for the carpeting. Right outside our room there was a large stain, and the carpet inside our room was spotted with several stained areas. Overall, the price did not match the value, and we won't be returning. If you're looking for the convenience of being near certain downtown locations, and are looking to stay in a higher price standard room, it would be worth checking this place out.
Editing to say I included pictures of the stained carpet, but they apparently didn't pass muster with Google or Radisson (not sure who oks...
