I think this is the only review of a place i've ever written but i'm gonna update it again (february 2024) since it's been a year since I first popped in! This place got me through a breakup tbh. started coming here a couple times a week to get out of my apartment during a tough time, and I got hooked. it's been a really special part of my life since i've been in the neighborhood. not only is the staff wonderful, knowledgeable and creative, the community of regulars and neighborhood folks who meet here is really robust and inspiring. you will always have a great conversation in here if you come prepared for one! they also have my favorite espresso tonic in the city :)

Updated Review: came in again yesterday with bf and was really pleased! He got a cold brew and I got a flat white with cow's milk that was delicious. I really liked the drinkware as well, and especially enjoyed the way the cold brew looked in the glasses. We sat reading comfortably at the sofa for a while and agreed we'd be back :)

Came in for a coffee and to get some work done a couple weeks ago. The atmosphere was bright and friendly, and everyone working behind the counter was lovely! (I always liked misfit too but their hvac thing was so damn loud i couldn't hear my own thoughts). I was, however, disappointed by my latte. it didn't have the full, rich flavor i expect from a craft coffee shop, it tasted a tad burnt and felt overpowered by the nuttiness of the oat milk, like the kind of fine-but-not-great thing I'd get at a second wave shop for a little cheaper. I'll be back to give it another try though! They may have been training a new barista or getting used to the space as I came not long after opening day, and I might go for drip or pour-over next time to really get a taste of the beans. I am happy to have the place in the neighborhood as a workspace. I'm excited to see how the space/decor develops with time and I'm determined to find an order that...

🧟‍♀️ This place is a Virgo Vortex! So, you KNOW, it HAS to be good. We accept no less. Just sayin’. Quality. Kindness. Service. Knowledge. Excellent PASTRIES!

And a word of advice: If you want it the way you want it the exact same way every time? You are a Pavlovian Consumer. Stay in your corporate coffee shop and rack up points to buy your Next Same Thing. We do not judge you.

Know that this is a small, local chain that specializes. Remain curious. Ask questions. Learn something. The people that work here might just LOVE COFFEE and have some valuable, personalized insight to offer. Use them shamelessly (for educational purposes only) and make people behind you wait a minute more than usual. This is YOUR MOMENT! Take a tiny adventure in your mouth. Put down your phone and pay attention. Taste Ecuador. Taste Peru. Know the difference. “Wake Up” Beautiful and Savor the Moment. That’s COFFEE, Folks!

Disclaimer: I have received no product for this highly biased review. I have no relatives that work here and I do not know the owner. I just like coffee. That said, I would accept a free cup of coffee. Unfortunately I revel in anonymity like most people online. Thank you for your shop and all the great people that work there....

SK Coffee is amazing! After the last coffee shop that was in this location closed, I had my fingers crossed that another coffee shop would move in. My wish was granted, but I had no idea it would be this awesome. I’ve been there a few times now, and I’m trying to think of what accurately describes it, because simply saying coffee shop isn’t sufficient. Ok, so you get a burger at McDonald’s--that’s gas station coffee. Then you go to Applebees-that might be the equivalent of Starbucks. Your current favorite local coffee shop would probably be on par with you favorite local restaurant, right? SK Coffee? It’s like a Michelin chef, fine dining type of experience, but with coffee. I ordered their pour over yesterday, and while it’s a bit pricier than coffees I typically get, it was worth every penny. It was the smoothest, most complex, and just all around best cup of coffee I’ve ever had. I ended up asking what, exactly, Jinx Tea was. It sounded intriguing, so I got one of those, to go, as I was leaving. It was also fantastic! I’ve also had their miel, and flat white-both wonderful. I now have a new go-to coffee shop. Please stay...

I’ve been a few times now and I absolutely love it at SK. For starters, they have great coffee, tea, and pastries. I love how it seems like they’ve always got something innovative and exciting going on here that you don’t see at other coffee spots, like the seasonal agua frescas and the artwork on display. Beyond that, I especially love that they are involved in and supportive of the surrounding community. Seeing the work of local artists on the walls energizes me, and might explain why I’m always seeing talented, creative people working here. Their playlists slap and there’s always the flutter of good conversation in the air here. Immaculate vibes. I can see myself becoming a regular. Staff are super friendly and knowledgable. Thank you SK!

My first visit to SK Coffee this month was truly delightful! But, their reputation already precedes them, in my experience. For several months earlier this year, I had the pleasure of working directly with SK Coffee founder Sam and his team of kind, and professional staff members in providing the co working space I manage with coffee for our hundreds of members. They were always warm in demeanor and prompt with delivery! Then, we hosted Sam for a Lunch & Learn conversation with our members. He was engaging, knowledgable, and fun. SK Coffee is a breath of fresh air in the local Twin Cities coffee scene and an authentic and relatable brand, no matter how you engage with them. Thank you for all you do!
