Came to Char Bar for the first time for happy hour on Saturday with a friend. Char Bar is a speakeasy on the inside of Butcher & Boar (through the glass doors). We arrived around 4:45 pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too crazy busy, we were one of a handful of tables.

The hour menu was pretty good! A good amount of food and drink items ranging between $6-10. I had the Chicken Sammy ($10), Kim had an Arby's style 3 Way Beef & Cheese sando ($17), and we split the Curly Fries ($6). I also ordered two of the non happy hour burgers to go ($8/ each). I really liked my sandwich a lot, chicken was perfectly crispy, the slaw was savory and sweet, Polynesian vibes. I would absolutely get it again! Kim liked her sandwich but she said the sauce was too much and soaked the bottom of the bun, the curly fries were fine.

I had a dragon tattoo cocktail, serenity pineapple rum cocktail, and a frozen rum & cherry coke slushy. Drinks were boozy but pricey! Loved the menu showing the drinks very cute and visibly pleasing.

Update: Butcher Burger ($8) was sensational! It's no Parlour Bar burger but it's sooo good, tasted gourmet and traveled well. Fun fact: the restaurant group over Parlour Bar also owns Char Bar! I liked the pickled onions and the chipotle mayo cheese sauce, good solid burger for...

I LOVE IT HERE! Char Bar is like a speakeasy meets pub, cocktail lounge meets barbecue joint. It’s classy, sexy, elevated, and COZY. It feels like a well-kept secret: it’s in the very back of The Butcher & The Boar, behind a paneled door. You have to ask to be seated here at the front lobby, no reservations, walk-in only. It feels very exclusive & stylish!

And it is SO GOOD! Crafted pub favorites like this fried chicken sandwich (recommended by our bartender) and the perfectly crispy cheese curds, which had a smoked whiskey hot honey dip. Not to mention the fantastic cocktails, and I’d recommend sitting at the bar so you can chat up the very friendly bartenders and get all the best recommendations. They were so helpful!

I loved the Pink Lady and the Orchard Hi Ball (which comes with the cool “Butcher” ice cylinder). My boyfriend got the Medicina and the Eat Street, which I’d HIGHLY recommend - it’s a tequila drink with pho spices!

This is perfect for date night, girls’ night, impressing your boss, you name it....

This place has all the vibes. Cozy and quaint, with a nice selection of music that is just loud enough. I appreciated that I didn't have to yell when talking. I should note I was there at 4:30 on a Tuesday for my bday, so there weren't a lot of people. I stopped in for a cocktail before dinner at Bar La Grassa. I'm very happy I did. The tequila old fashioned was fantastic. Their selection of drinks is unique, with something that's sure to cater to a variety of tastes. I ordered the brat as a snack and it was delicious! The sauerkraut and mustard paired well with the toasted bun. For some reason I expected it to just be the brat only based on the menu, but I'm definitely not complaining. Overall it was a great experience and the service was excellent. I will be...
