The Element in the North Loop has become our 2nd home. We stay about once a month for four days. Michael, at the check in desk, is so helpful, he should get a percentage of the gross. We book a one-bedroom, and the space has ample storage, a ton of closet apace, a full kitchen, and two televisions. Prices are for a moderate hostelry.
The North Loop area is the best in Minneapolis. It already has fantastic restaurants, but new places are opening all the time. An eclectic array of bars surround you, from yahoo sports bars, to breweries, to classy mixologist joints. I cannot imagine staying at any other hotel. Even our dog Roscoe loves it.
We stayed at the Element once more during Thanksgiving weekend. Michael was working the front desk during this lonely weekend, and he took great care of us. With full kitchens, modern decor, ample space and steps from the North Loops happening bars and restaurants, the Element is the place to stay in Minneapolis. —————————-
What a difference a city makes. This Minneapolis Element Hotel, compared to the one in Bozeman, Montana, is a revelation. The room is decorated with warmth and a sense of design, the towels are thick and plentiful, and the parking is underground and safe. Located almost next door to Target Field, where the Twins play, the location allows you to enjoy the area around the stadium and the restaurants and bars of the North Loop neighborhood. After Covid, I think the North Loop is the best area of Minneapolis for tourists. Downtown has not recovered and Nicollet Mall is hurting.
The greeting was warm and helpful and the staff bent over backwards to meet our needs. Understand, the Element is not a luxurious hotel. That doesn’t appear to be the brand’s objective. You get a large and clean room with a kitchen, that can accommodate a dog for an extra $75 per stay. One bar of soap was supplied, and the shower only bathroom is rudimentary. However, the lobby is bright and engaging, and in the morning, a continental breakfast is laid out. This hotel is attached to the Fillmore concert venue which is handy if you attend a concert. However, even with Li’l Wayne performing, we heard no noise and slept well.
Until downtown Minneapolis gains health and revises itself, The Element Downtown Minneapolis will be our hotel in the Twin Cities. It is the best choice for the...
Read moreMy stay here was mostly a great experience. The location is excellent—walking distance to a number of local breweries, restaurants, and attractions like Target field and the Fillmore. Short Ride share to downtown if you don’t want to walk. Beautiful lobby with lots of seating and fireplace setting. One of the biggest highlights was the full kitchen in the room, complete with a full size fridge, stovetops, dishwasher and microwave. It even had pans and utensils, which made it easy to cook meals during my stay.
The room itself was spacious, with large windows that let in lots of natural light. While the view wasn’t anything special, right in front of a busy gas station, the bright atmosphere was very pleasant. Beds were very comfortable, and the shower was clean and modern—definitely a plus. There’s also a nice outdoor terrace on the 4th floor that was perfect for relaxing in the evening.
Breakfast was another surprise—it runs until 10 PM, which is incredibly convenient for late risers or anyone coming in from a long day out. Parking was also a breeze with a garage attached directly to the building. Your room key lets you in and out of it.
The main downsides were housekeeping-related. The rug in the room didn’t appear to be properly cleaned, and unfortunately, we found some trash in the pullout couch from a previous guest. Hopefully, this is something the hotel can address going forward.
All in all, a solid stay with great amenities and a fantastic location—just needs a bit more attention to room...
Read moreI’m a Marriott Silver Elite member and frequent traveler, but my experience at Element Minneapolis was completely unacceptable. I booked one of the top-tier one-bedroom king suites for three nights and even called ahead to confirm it would be ready after my late flight. I was assured everything was in order.||When I arrived, I was told the suite I reserved had been given away. Instead, I was placed in an accessible room that was not remotely comparable — a much smaller shower, less space, and nowhere near what I paid for or needed. This wasn’t a minor downgrade — it was a bait-and-switch.||They offered 20,000 Bonvoy points as compensation — which doesn’t even cover one night in a basic room at this property, let alone a premium suite for three nights. I explained this and declined the offer, expecting a reasonable follow-up.||What’s most disappointing is not just the room mix-up — it’s the complete lack of effort to make it right. As a loyal Bonvoy Elite member, I expected more. I escalated the issue, followed up again, and was completely ignored. No apology, no alternative solution, just silence.||This shows me that loyalty doesn’t matter here. If you’re considering booking a suite at Element Minneapolis, don’t count on actually getting it, and definitely don’t count on them doing the right thing if things go wrong.||I’ve filed a formal complaint with Marriott Bonvoy and will continue sharing my experience to warn other travelers. Marriott, this is not how you treat your...
