If there were an option for zero stars, I would give it. I went here with my family, and my son, who is severely allergic to all nuts, ordered the Alfredo pasta with chicken. The menu made no mention of nuts or any allergy warnings. As soon as he took a bite, he had a severe allergic reaction. We always ask about ingredients when eating out, but the staff ignored our questions, and the waiters denied that any nuts were used in the dish. When the owner/chef came out, instead of helping, he had the audacity to blamed us for “maybe doing something else.” After repeated requests to see the ingredients, he finally showed me a sauce he adds that contained almonds — yet this was never disclosed on the menu. This lack of transparency and concern is dangerous. Anyone with nut allergies, please proceed with extreme caution.

I had been waiting for this restaurant to open for several months and finally got the chance to visit. I ordered rice, camel meat, sheep meat, a mango cocktail, soup and tea. The rice was dull and cold. Even worse was the sheep meat, which was served as a large chunk and priced between $20-25. Unfortunately, it was tasteless, overcooked, and seemed like it had been prepared hours earlier and just reheated upon order. The camel meat, soup and tea were decent but nothing special—similar to what you can find on Lake Street. The restaurant also has a café, which I plan to visit next. Overall, this restaurant falls far below the standard set by other existing establishments.

After reading several reviews, it’s clear that poor customer service is a recurring issue at this establishment.

This evening, I went to pick up an order for my father—my second visit in two days. Yesterday, I ordered two meals and two mango drinks, totaling $24. Tonight, however, I was charged $19.02 for just one meal item. When I pointed out the pricing discrepancy and that the order was incorrect, the older woman working the service desk (who refused to provide her name) responded with hostility. She became verbally aggressive and even threatened me, saying, “What are you going to do about it?”

No customer should ever be spoken to or threatened in that manner—especially not by someone representing a business.

I spoke directly with the owner, Mohamed, and explained that I am a loyal, long-time customer who has never encountered this type of vile, unprofessional behavior before. He told me the employee was “relatively new,” although I’ve seen her before—typically disengaged and glued to her phone. His dismissive response felt like gaslighting, and frankly, I don’t believe any meaningful action will be taken based on his reaction.

That said, I refuse to remain silent.

You have officially lost a loyal customer who has spent a considerable amount of money here over time. I will not tolerate being disrespected or threatened—especially by someone clearly unfit to work in...

I’m not the type to write reviews — I usually don’t have the time — but I couldn’t skip this one, especially for the sake of my brother who owns the restaurant.

You can tell from the décor and setup that a lot of money and effort went into the place. It looks great. But in the restaurant world, presentation comes second — taste always comes first.

Unfortunately, the food wasn’t the greatest. The wait time was incredibly long, and two of the waiters were sitting right next to us, completely occupied with their phones instead of attending to customers. I also placed a takeaway order for a friend, and it came out totally wrong with no correction offered.

What surprised me most was the pricing — we were charged $75 for just some rice, meat, and drinks for two people. That’s an insane amount for a basic meal, especially when the food and service don’t match the cost.

My advice to the owner: be on site more often. Your presence can help ensure better service and smoother operations. Right now, the customer service and the overall dining experience feel disconnected.

Still, I’ll definitely come back to support my brother — and if things improve, I’ll gladly update...

Absolutely disastrous buffet experience at Sanaag. Where do I even begin? The entire setup was completely disorganized, with no clear instructions on how to navigate the food stations or what dishes were available. It felt like a free-for-all, and not in a good way. To make matters worse, there was a complete lack of staff presence. I had no idea who to ask for assistance, and when I finally managed to flag someone down, they seemed just as confused as I was. The price? A staggering $65 for two people! For that amount, I expected a culinary experience, not a glorified rice and chicken fest. Most of the dishes were heavily rice-based, with minimal variety and disappointing quality. It felt like a massive rip-off. The lack of organization, clueless staff, and exorbitant price for mediocre food makes Sanaag a place I will never, ever return to. Save your money and your appetite; there are far better dining...
