This is an update to a review I wrote many months ago. The review was very good, and guess what? Although it took longer than I expected, I went back to Napoli's, and it was as good, if not better than the last time.
Not only is it THE BEST NYC Pizza you will find in Central Florida, the prices for their daily deals are awesome, the staff (EVERYONE) is super friendly and appreciative of your business, and the rest of their food is awesome as well.
This visit I shared their 2 slices and a drink for 5 and change with my wife, plus a large chicken parm sub for about 12 bucks. My wife tried to talk me into getting their chicken parm dinner, which was on a BOGO special...imagine that!...but I needed my sub :-)
Suffice it to say the sub was great...the bread, sauce, cheese, and chicken was the bomb. And the pizza...I was transported back to Brooklyn NY. Just terrific. And when I say they are friendly, a gentleman came up front with two small cups of pasta for my wife and I to sample...I forgot what the name of the dish is, but he wanted to add it to the menu and asked for our opinion---well, I wish it was on the menu already because I would have taken some home. It was one of the tastiest pasta dishes I ever ate.
In conclusion, I still love this place, and am only sorry it is more than an hour's drive from my home. (by highway with a 70 mph limit).
ORIGINAL REVIEW As an ex-New Yorker I am always looking for pizza that reminds me of the slices I had back in the city. I am not talking about the current day fancy pizzas like brick oven or wood flamed, I am talking old school, thin crust pizza baked in a traditional commercial pizza oven that comes out with a thin, slightly charred crust with just sauce and cheese. Think of the pizza John Travolta buys in the opening scene of Saturday Night Fever. That's what I grew up with, and that's what I like, If that is what you like too, ten Napoli's is the place. NY pizza (not NY Style) in Central Florida. it is the real deal. I also had a meatball parm sub there, and it was also great. Although it is an hours drive from my house, I plan on going there again to pick up a few of their pies, bring them home, freeze them, and have NY Pizza whenever the mood strikes. Freezing NY pizza gets even better when reheated in a oven or toaster over...the crust gets a nice crispy snap and it folds perfectly. But NEVER reheat pizza in a microwave...NEVER! BTW--you cannot make this kind of pizza at home. Residential ovens do not get hot enough to bake the...
Read moreWe had the absolute pleasure of hiring Steve and his wife from Napoli to cater our son’s wedding—and the experience was nothing short of exceptional.
From the start, Steve stood out. We had contacted several Italian restaurants in the area as we were planning to hold the reception at The Sterling Event Venue nearby. Steve was not only the first to respond, but his warmth and professionalism immediately set him apart. He approached our inquiry with care, ownership, and a genuine desire to help us create the perfect Italian feast to honor our son and his bride’s wishes.
Steve went above and beyond to tailor a menu that aligned beautifully with both our tastes and our budget. His communication was prompt and clear, his service was impeccable, and the food… absolutely flawless. He truly made us feel like family.
Throughout the evening, guest after guest approached us—completely unprompted—to rave about how incredible the food was. As a wedding officiant who’s attended more receptions than I can count, I can honestly say this was the best dining experience I’ve ever had at a wedding. And it meant the world that it happened to be at our own son’s celebration.
Although we live over an hour and a half away, we’re already planning to visit Napoli again—just to enjoy that same level of hospitality and culinary excellence, and to continue the friendship we’ve begun with Steve and his wife.
If you’re anywhere near the Orlando, Clermont, or Minneola area, do yourself a favor and visit Napoli. And if you get the chance to meet Steve, take it. You’ll walk away with not just a great meal, but a...
Read moreWe have been customers for several years of the location in Minneola. We had a long day and my wife and I decided to order subs and an appetizer. We ordered 2 Italian cold subs, with everything on it except for the Italian dressing, asked for that on the side. We also ordered a calamari app. The food arrived quicker than expected, that was a good thing and unfortunately the only good thing. The calamari wasn’t fresh, it was obviously frozen, tasteless etc. The subs: first off, right away I could tell the bread was old but not until we started eating did we realize it was also stale. The subs were put together in a hurry, messy etc. The salami still has the casing on it, so every time you bit into the sub, the salami would pull out of it with the casing. My wife and I wanted to call and complain but we chose not to. We didn’t because a few years ago we called and complained about a pizza we received yet the owner was rude and didn’t care. Being an Italian American, I am embarrassed for this restaurant. Italians take pride in anything we craft and I can tell you this place has zero pride. They did open a full restaurant off 50 in Clermont. Before we had a chance to try it out, they closed. No surprise there. Do yourself a favor, go to the grocery and make it yourself. This place isn’t worth it, the owners and employees don’t care. It won’t be in business much longer and if it is it is only due to proximity for...
