Last nite was the worse experience with dining since I arrived in Miramar Beach 2 weeks ago. I had called the restaurant, and asked them what time was their busy time. I am Ill, so we tend to go out early. The gal on the phone said, not until 5:30. We arrived at approximately 5:00.As soon as we walked in, there was a sign that said see hostess to be seated. I approved the gal, and she said sit anywhere there is not a reserved sign. We sat down at the end of the restaurant at a table for two. We were approached by a young man with dark hair, and hair bun. We asked him suggestions on wine, and he had no knowledge....he stated I will Be right back, I have this table, again, that table. At one point I had asked him a question, and he walked away, because he had to get to another table. If you get busy at 5;30, why do you have one waiter. My husband finally went into the wine store, and purchased our own wine since the waiter had no knowledge in regard to wine. We ordered our dinner, again , he was in a hurry. Within minutes the food was out. I asked politely to take the food back, as we would like to have a glass of wine first. Within minutes, a gal came up to us, and said your food is sitting and getting cold. I said I told our waiter that we wanted a cocktail first. The girl was rude. I asked her to cancel our order, as there was way too much Caicos, and no help. She said, you ordered it, so you have to pay for it. I said that I will pay for the wine that we originally ordered, and did not like. We stood up, and started walking, and we were approached by the manager. She concurred that we had to pay for the dinner we ordered, and asked to cancel. She became ignorant....I waked up to the bar, and asked again for my bill to pay. She handed me a bill in discuss...for 20.xx dollars. Onsaid we only had 1 happy hour wine. She said you bought a wine at the store on their premises, so you will have to pay a cork fee. I said excuse me, we are leaving, and it is not open yet. In the meantime the waiter was talking under his breath at the bar area about us, and the manager told him to stop. I finally paid the correct 10.xx bill, and even left a 3.00 tip for the poor business, and bad attitude. We will not be back next Year when we return.only bad...
Read moreThe Wine Bar in Grand Boulevard has an excellent atmosphere for relaxing and enjoying a good meal. There is also outdoor dining available.
The special luncheon dish was a shrimp wrap with avocado and tomato. It was a large dish and so large we split it for two people. My dining companion also had a crab bisque soup.
Both dishes were excellent.
There is also a sandwich available called "carnivore" which is a roast beef sandwich with Ciabatta bread. The meat is usually tender and very large and accompanied by a salad or chips. It is large enough for two people with moderate appetites to split and still leave with their hunger completely satisfied.
One feature of The Wine Bar is a special price and a great selection of wine. There is a small carafe available at the price for a large glass. That is noteworthy but the wide selection of wines available are excellent. There are some high quality wines available at a great price.
Service is usually excellent, unless the restaurant is very crowded. At the time we went, it was not very crowded and service was quick...
Read moreMy family and I waited for an hour to have dinner at the Wine bar on Grand Boulevard and when we finally sat down, our server Matt (guy with a manbun), stood for 30secs while we were deciding our selection and waved us off and left our table leading to a lot of distress and disbelief. The manager did come by and apologize and switched the server but never came back and checked in to make sure we were doing ok. We came to Miramar beach for a vacation from Atlanta, Dallas, Mobile and I was extremely disappointed by the service. The food and wine were excellent but service was very poor. I am hoping the ownership group is made aware of this. Matt was terrible and the manager needs a different opportunity if your objective is to build the best restaurant. Two bad apples in an otherwise fantastic restaurant. #waiter...
