Historically, this was a great place, but it’s gone downhill. Ice Cream selection has been cut down to maybe 10 flavors (we watched them pulling the other half just days ago) and they refuse to honor an offer they proudly lure you in with at the movie theater on property for a free waffle cone when you present your movie ticket. I’m a reasonable person, so when they said they’d charge for a kids (smaller) single scoop and “upgrade it” to a waffle cone with no additional charge (that’s all they gave us, anyway), I gladly paid the difference. Previously that has been roughly $6.50 plus tax. This time it was just shy of $16 for what I was told was three kiddie scoops of ice cream - in a “free waffle cone.” I kindly handed my “kiddie scoop” back, and agreed to be ripped off for my kids’ 2 “free waffle cones,” for just under $10. But, there is an obvious integrity issue when you charge 1 and a half times the normal discounted price, simply because you feel you’ve made a marketing error in advertising a special you don’t intend to honor. Shame on you. You have demonstrated to small children that it’s ok to cheat, and I elected not to punish them for this, with the promise to warn others. Add insult to injury: the ice cream my daughter received had ice crystals and two other flavors of ice cream mixed into her single scoop, so if food alllergies are a potential issue for you or your family, this place is a definite no-no. To be fair, it’s always been overpriced, and we were previously ok with that, but this treatment - especially of a family of fairly regular customers - was the last nail in their coffin for us. And with fewer and fewer people choosing ice cream over healthier food choices these days, I was shocked that the “shift leader” Destiny was as over the top rude and dishonest in TELLING us we’d be charged $4.49 each (before tax and a resort fee) for a “dish” of ice cream we never received. Locals, do yourselves a favor, and take your coveted...
Read moreBefore we got to the ice cream shop we called to see if we would still be serviced due to it being near closing time and since we had a party of 9. One of the employees told us that we can still order although it would be after 10 (closing time). Once we reached, one of the people from our party went inside at 9:57 to order, once the rest of us entered in, we were refused service due to them being closed. One of the employees came with an attitude and told us that they locked the door after the last family walked out even though we easily came in when they left. He also told us the that we came in at 10:05 when we came at 10:02 and they told us before that we would be able to order. Not only did the employee lie, he refused to take one of the people from our party’s order although she reached inside on time, approached us with an attitude and did not apologize for the unfortunate news. I do not recommend this ice cream shop, they had horrible attitudes and misleading...
Read moreVery disappointed in this location. We were out trying to enjoy our last evening of our three day vacation, plus it was Father’s Day. On our way back to our condo after dinner, we promised our 3 year old some ice cream. We were driving past Kilwins and saw several teenagers and young adults going inside. Granted it was 9:30 pm and they closed at 9 but we didn’t know this at the time. Since we saw a lobby full of people and people still going inside we pulled over and my husband rushed our daughter up to the door. Right as he reached to open the door someone inside ran to the door and locked it literally in their faces, leaving my baby girl standing there crying as everyone inside watched. They were still serving people ice cream! Like seriously you couldn’t let one more little girl in? Your employees are heartless and I would...
