I have been attending this restaurant for a very longtime and have never had such a horrible experience with service as I did yesterday 2/21/2024. I do not recommend that anyone eats at this store for as long as "Caitlin" (so called manager) is at the helm. She 100% showed nothing but disrespect, no professionalism, or no desire to listen to the customers wants or concerns. She was more of an "as a matter of fact" kind of lady"! She made myself and my family feel belittled during this black history month as we are African Americans, and while she clearly cattererd to people of non color. I had my special needs Son with me who does not eat meat, and when trying to put an order together that fits his needs she clearly did not care to sympathize with us or be willing to help. Her staff (who are young) clearly looked nervous and afraid to work with her as she seems to micro manager by watching their every move while we were attempting to explain our order. She was clearly making us feel like she was insuring that we weren't getting more than we should get or something free, which we were not seeking. Myself or my kids mom do not eat the brown rice, so we asked the kid at the counter to not give us the white rice that has the brown rice in it, and he asked "what's the issue with not liking the brown rice"? Is someone allergic? I said no, I just don't want it mixed with the white rice and at that point he seemed to be getting irritated while the Boss "Caitlin" stands down at the register inputting our order while straight starring at us with a frown or sense of frustration on her face. Smh! Finally, I proceeded to ask the price for a bowl with just rice and she said she had to give it to us as a protein bowl at like 9.65 or something (mind you this bowl had nothing but rice and lettuce) so I said the how much to make it a regular bowl, and she stated a price that was about only a dollar more. I said thats cool but since I'm paying the price for a bowl with everything I'd like the toppings of my choice put in side cups. She immediately stated, "You're only getting a choice of three". I then said but if I go down the line and tell you the things I want in my bowl I'd have multiple choices, (she still didn't care). So then I asked to just put the meat separately. They go down and found the littlest cup and sprinkled a little meat in it, so I started getting more frustrated and asked how when they put meat (using a spoon) for my bowl that there seems to be more meat? Her reply was that's just the way it is! When I left a WHITE lady came to us and said "Wow I'm sorry sir, but the way you and your family were treated in there was very unfortunate and it seemed very racist towards u guys". All I could think of was and it's Black History month and we still have to endure situations like this from someone like her and her staff! Again, that QDOBA store had a great staff and awesome team that cared about there customers or concerns, but Caitlin will sure make it a bad experience for anyone. Again, do not attend this place on Main St. in Mishawaka, IN. if you want good service. I truly wish there was another location near, because that one IS NOT IT!!!!!! I wish I knew how to contact someone above her, because I am outraged and have a lot to get off my chest regarding that situation, but it's too much to write. I let her know that I was writing a bad review on them, and she just shrugged her shoulders smh. If I knew how to file a discrimination lawsuit I would basesd on how my family and I were treated, because it all left me ask a black man trying to bring his family out to a good place to eat, feeling...
Read moreHad an awful experience with both the service and management team when I ordered food here about a week ago. Both of the workers at the counter were passive aggressive towards myself and other customers in time. The one worker kept asking "is there anything else?" in a very annoyed tone. I got about 5 toppings total which seems like an average amount, but several times was asked this question and received a glare. I noticed this same treatment towards the couple who was behind me in line. But I suppose if I worked with their management team, I'd be miserable too.
In any case, QDOBA has a complete your meal option which lets you add queso and a drink for $2.95. I asked to add them on, and the girl at the register charged me $5.65 for the queso and $2.75 for the drink. I didn't notice until I saw the receipt after tapping my card, and was charged about $6 more than I was expecting to be charged after tax. I asked why she hadn't charged me the "complete your meal" price and she said they only do that if a customer literally says those exact words. Even if it was unclear what I wanted, I would have appreciated a clarifying question. It's completely dishonest and unethical to charge someone for the more expensive item without confirming that that's what they wanted. I work as a server myself, and have always been trained not to do that.
So I was told only her manager could reverse the charge, and so I asked for the manager. When I talked to the manager, she told me that unless people say "complete your meal" they charge them for the more expensive option. I hadn't gotten my food yet and asked if I could get a refund and be charged the correct amount, and she said only the general manager who is in tomorrow morning can do that. She took my receipt and wrote my name on it, and told me that she was going to notify the gm so that he would know what was going on when I called him.
When I called in the morning, I was told the gm was out on a delivery and needed to call back later. When I finally got ahold of him, he told me he needed the receipt and a copy of my bank statement. I explained that the manager from the night before had kept it for him, and he said he had cleared his desk in the morning and didn't have it. When I persisted, he looked up my receipt in the computer but said I still needed to bring in my bank statement, even though the night before I had been told the refund could be handled over the phone. He then told me it was only a $6 difference, so I should just let it go. At that point, I told him I would be disputing the charge on my credit card, and ended the conversation.
About five minutes later, I got a call back saying that his manager had told him he could make a one time exception and give me my refund over the phone. He ended the call saying "You're refund will show up depending on your bank." The amount of hoops I had to jump through to get my money back was completely unethical. I don't know whether the local management was just being stubborn and making it difficult or if this is corporate policy, but either way what happened was a terrible experience and I will never come back to this location, and may just avoid QDOBA altogether. Worst customer service experience I...
Read moreIf I could give this 0 stars I would. My family and I drove 9 hours to South Bend today and were tired and hungry with 6 of us, eager to eat an awesome meal. We LOVE Qdoba but where we live now there aren't any. So that was what we wanted first on our vacation after a long day. My 2 kids walk in at 8 pm (they close at 10 by the way) and the first thing we hear is a lady shouting that there's no more fajita or shrimp. I was the first to order and ordered a steak quest burrito. The guy hardly put any rice in to begin with... then there were no more pinto beans. The staff then complained they had to go get more and the lady behind the counter grudgingly was convinced by the other 2 to grab it. Then there was no more steak, no more queso... the counter was disgusting and most of the food dishes on the line were empty or filled with nasty old water. The staff thought it was hilarious how much they were complaining and how little they cared about their jobs. We crossed town to get this food and were shown such disrespect. I told them finally forget it. And we left and we convinced the girl behind us to go to. That place is a salmonella poisoning waiting to happen. Then I decide to come write this review and I see on here hundreds of people complaining of exactly the same things. Don't bother commenting back Qdoba franchise unless you plan to actually fire those stooges and get some management replacement in this disgusting place. How awful that for years people have been ripping you apart and receiving horrid service at a franchise restaurant and you have not done anything about it. That's shameful. I will never set foot in a qdoba again after tonight. Just absolutely a game changer. Never ever eat here if you value your dignity as a customer or...
