Took the Mrs there for dinner. We were not disappointed in any way shape or form! The decor is great! The bar is up front with booth seating, a big dining area away from the bar and in front of the bar is the climate controlled patio where when the weather is warmer they'll open all the big windows for an open spaced patio per Ed, a very friendly (I'm going to guess and say he was one of the managers) told us! He spoke with us a few times while we was there! Our server Adrien was super nice and informative answering all but one question I asked her. She answered the last one by finding someone that knew the answer! That was awesome to us.. usually unanswered questions get forgotten! We had the grilled pineapple margarita to start with! Yes, there's actually half of a slice of grilled pineapple in it! Very tasty!! Definitely try one! A gentleman named Doug also engaged us in conversation as well. Everyone was super friendly! They bring you a nice sized loaf of bread and butter to start. The bread was fresh and very tasty! We each ordered steaks with a side of smoked Mac and Cheese. We also had salads. Both our steaks were so perfectly cooked, it took nothing for our knives to cut into. Perfectly seasoned and rested in the back the exact time so we had not one drop of blood on our plates. The smoked Mac and Cheese tasted like it just came out of the smoker, and they use what I feel is the perfect pasta (cavatappi) for Mac and Cheese personally another awesome treat to me! The salad was crisp and fresh. The right amount of dressing to let us taste all the flavors that came in it! Great country music plays in the background, not one person we saw that works there was standing doing nothing. Everyone was busy either bringing orders out, taking orders or having conversations with their guess. Which also was awesome because everyone's orders we saw coming out including our own was quick! We decided to take home half of our meals to enjoy later and we thought Adrien was so amazing we wanted her to have a quick turn around from us. Our dishes was picked up by another pretty awesome person named Reggie. He's from Texas and isn't used to our cold!! Oh also, you can join their rewards program for $25. You get a card you can use for future dinners. Each dollar you spend gets you one reward point On your birthday, they reload your card with $25! It's a no brainer win win! Overall, we had an awesome dining experience. The food was more than amazing with service to equal it! We have already decided we'll be going back...

.................. The failed to meet expectations experience (Sat around 430pm)
Ordered a blue rare smothered filet again. The mushrooms were cold and the butter wouldn't melt. I understand blue rare steaks aren't hot. But the smother is bizarre if the butter doesn't melt. Told them about it and they must have micowaved the whole dish or put it in the oven. Butter was melted, but steak was overcooked, mushrooms shrunk, and the broccoli was dried out.
Our server tried hard, but the service left a lot to be desired - kept confusing our drinks, food cleared before we finished, etc, etc. Various people kept talking to us and not actually fixing things. When we let one guy (some manager) know that heating up the whole plate kinda wrecked the steak, there was no offer to remake, just a somewhat condescending speech about how we could order differently in the future to make it more clear for their kitchen but that included an acknowledgement that would be the expected result from heating up the whole plate. Nothing discounted on the bill. They had multiple chances to make it better and just didn't do so. At a minimum, there are some clear training opportunities.
We left exhausted, would have been easier to fire up our grill.
.................. The excellent experience: This is my original review from a couple weeks ago when it was great (on a Monday around 7pm). All photos were from this night.
One of the few places that actually understands blue rare. Food was great for the money, service was excellent, prices were much lower than expected. I love that I never had to ask for a refill, there was just always one available before it occurred to me to ask.
I've been to other saltgrass locations in other states. This one has better service than I've ever encountered at saltgrass and the food is...
Read moreWent around 6pm on a Monday. Had zero wait time which was great. Place looks bigger from the outside but overall was very clean and not overly loud.
Ordered the fried pickles & peppers appetizer. Seemed like 2-3 jalapenos and a handful of pickles deep fried in their own kind of coating. They were good and had no complaints.
Wife ordered the Wagyu steak, a baked potato and house salad. Ordered medium well and it came out more medium/medium rare than ordered but was eaten anyway.
I ordered the classic cheeseburger and fries.
The house salad was your standard salad with the exception being the croutons which were very good.
The wagyu steak and baked potato were, just okay. The steak was juicy however not cooked as well as we wanted. It lacked a lot of flavor, we had the steak smothered and they use fine diced mushrooms so it looks like a lot less than "smothered". It was supposed to have house herbs and garlic butter but I couldn't taste any of that other than the char flavor on the steak which was pleasant. The baked potato didn't have any kind of seasoning on the outside or inside so it tasted like a boiled potato with butter.
When venturing to a new restaurant I will get a classic cheeseburger because I want to see how well they can make something on that level. It, like the steak, was just okay. Nothing to write home about. It tasted like the toppings with some char. It was on the drier side and felt like nothing was added to the meat to flavor it.
We finished off the night with their white chocolate and strawberry cheesecake which was massive and delicious. They said they make everything homemade so if that is true then they have the cheesecake perfected.
The waitress was attentive and we never had to worry about refills or being ignored.
Overall I give it a 3/5. Service was great and maybe that is just how they cook their meat but we felt it was nothing special, nothing we would tell others that they...
