this place really surprised me as it was halfway between San Diego and Los Angeles, and way off the road from the San Clemente 5 freeway.
I don't just recommend this place, I'm going to make it a point even if I'm not hungry to stop by here and try other things on the menu as I was very impressed.
I review hundreds of Mexican food shops from San Diego to Los Angeles I just want to know that whatever I eat it tastes like Mexican food and it gets my Mexican food taste buds going and satisfies my Mexican food need for that time.
so on to the review of what I ate.
I saw a picture of a fajita quesadilla and I couldn't resist but going outside of my box which is very rare and having a fajita quesadilla.
along with that I had one of their mahi-mahi fish tacos. they were the shape of a chicken nugget but I couldn't really tell because they are crisp and soft and had such an incredible flavor.
I can't explain it for the first thing I bit into was the fajita quesadilla and let it drip over the fish taco just a little bit and then when I bit into the fish taco it had a great sweet and slightly fishy flavor.
so I'll end my review with just saying I'm very satisfied with his place for my high standards of eating Mexican food in San Diego at least three times a month and being unbelievably disappointed with Los Angeles Mexican food, I was glad that such a rich community had such a diamond of authenticity!
please follow me, I'm sure after reading this you don't have a choice your heart is pulling you in my direction but I promise you I will not disappoint...
Read moreOnce upon a time this was a great taco place.
They now DO NOT ALLOW you to not tip them, after charging you $13 for a burrito. The Cashier, at least the day I went was not friendly, inviting, I would even venture to say a bit rude.
Additionally, once you paid for the burrito the tip option did not have a "custom" open or a "no option". After you paid, it only gave you the option of 15% to 22% or something like that.
Tipping is totally fine, although its not the custom to tip at a place like that, they should not make it mandatory to tip by not even giving you the option to not tip or make a custom tip. With the guy standing there watching you as you did it, it felt as though one was pressured to pay more for an already expensive burrito.
Once upon a time this was a good place to go, for decent burritos for the value in Mission Viejo after school, that is no longer the case. The food is okay at best now, the service is questionable if not below, and the price is not worth it. Until they change this I would not...
Read moreI waited 45 minutes to get my food. When I asked the gentleman at the counter where my food was he turned around and asked the kitchen if they had completed this order, they proceeded to tell him yes. He turned around and said that he must have called my number and someone came up to claim the order... with receipt in hand and no food, I said no that didnt happen! He did not call out the number I was given on the receipt although he stated he had, I was less than 10 feet away from him the entire duration of my wait. So... he took my receipt and I sat and waited for another 20 minutes. I was not compensated or discounted for my time and/or their mistake. Please underarand all I ordered was 2 quesadillas, a bean and cheese burrito, and one order of 3 rolled tacos, half of that is already pre-made and sitting hot at the cook line!! This place used to check your receipts before handing your food to you... they should probably go...
