We had reservations for a Wednesday night to celebrate our daughters birthday. When we were seated, that section of the restaurant was freezing cold. It literally felt like stepping into a commercial refrigerator. All of the customers seated around us were complaining about it and some had gone out to their cars to get a jacket. When we complained to the waitress, she said, "Yeah, it's a problem" but asked if we'd be okay and was nodding her head as if we were to say yes. I told her it was not okay and wanted to be seated elsewhere. It took 20 minutes to get a table out on the deck even though there were several open tables out there large enough to seat our party. When they did move us, the table top at the new table was so loose it wobbled up and down over 2 inches. Everytime one of us leaned on the table it almost spilled our drinks. Finally, our waiter came to take our order. Turns out he was the only staff member working the deck and he was not happy to see us. He took our order and left. He later brought us our food, and I had to ask for silverware and a napkin because the table hadn't been set and i hadn't bought mine from the other table. Aftrr that, he never came back until he brought us the check. He didn't offer more water, he had no pleasant interaction with us, he didn't ask if we needed anything else. He looked and acted like he hated his job and was forced to do it. The food was the only bright spot, but it too was sub par considering what we paid for it. I've only been here twice over several years, but I'll never go back. It was a...

Didn't have the best experience here. Waited for the host and a busser told me she called out so he was covering. I asked for a table outside and he said it should be around 10-15 minutes since he was also bussing. Totally fine. However I kept seeing him chatting with other servers and dilly dallying so it didn't seem like he was busy with bussing. After waiting 25 minutes for a table outside, I asked a server how much longer the wait would be. She grabbed the busser and he told me 5 more minutes as he wanted the server outside to not be overwhelmed (definitely a different excuse than needing to bus tables outside). I then asked to see a menu and he told me lunch ended in 7 minutes and they'd just have a happy hour menu (mostly pizzas). I told him I had a gluten allergy and asked about GF buns and he told me he was almost positive the restaurant had them. I told him I wanted to place an order with the bar to get it in before 4pm so I can order from the lunch menu. Once I said that he said he would just take me to my table then instead.

The server we had was very friendly but extremely overwhelmed. Not sure if servers called out too or if the restaurant just doesn't staff appropriately. I ordered a cocktail which was 3 sips at best and very watered down. I also ordered steak, medium and it was cooked rare and had to send it back to get it cooked correctly.

It took 90 minutes for lunch (excluding the 30 minutes I waited for a table).

Disappointed experience overall....

My girlfriends and I go out to dinner once a month, and we look forward to catching up and enjoying great food and cocktails. We have been to Finn many times, and last week we chose this as our dinner location again. Unfortunately, we had the absolute worst service I have ever experienced anywhere. We were on the deck and I don't know if they were understaffed or what, but our waiter, Rowan, was not a happy camper and he seemed to want everyone to know it. There were four of us, and he barely acknowledged us unless we caught his eye. He would not look at us in the eye - he just jotted down what we wanted and grunted, then spun and walked away. When he delivered the food he just shoved it in front of us without a word and turned and walked away. We asked for a dessert menu and a few other items and he never came back with any of them. He just slammed the ticket on our table, never asking if we wanted to split it. We ended up splitting it ourselves because it was obvious he didn't want to deal with us. We were not rude or demanding at all - he was just in a bad mood and it really put a bad energy over our night. We wanted to linger over another cocktail and dessert, but he made it clear he was done with us. We won't be back anytime soon...

This was a special treat while we were in Missoula. We had already had dinner at a local establishment and wanted to have Huckleberry ice cream for dessert. At that time of night, the ice cream locations were packed so we decided to grab dessert in the hotel restaurant. We were curious about the only item on the dessert menu. I can't remember the name or comment on the taste bc that was my husbands dessert. It did look like it was some sort of peanut butter cake with Huckleberry sauce at the bottom. The only thing that disappointed me with the creme brulee is that I had expected the temperature to be warmer and it would have been nice instead of strawberries, that it would have had huckleberries or at least, Huckleberry sauce. As I said in the beginning, this was definitely a splurge because we like to dine on a budget but if you like to eat at finer establishments, give Finn & Porter try

Maybe we arrived at FINN Restaurant at a bad time (2:55 pm) but seating us turned into an ordeal. Upon arrival, we asked if we could please be seated on the deck. We were left hanging at the door to the deck - one of our party of 3 was in a wheelchair, another used a cane. We were then told to go back to the hostess station in the lobby. One of our party went. Nobody was there, so we contemplated leaving. The only available tables were high tables (not wheelchair friendly) or a table for 8 that had no umbrella or view. We had to beg for the unattractive table for 8. It wasn't worth it. Displeasure with our insistence was made obvious. Cringe. Silver lining - our waiter and waitress were both very pleasant. PS Do NOT order the chicken wings unless you like chicken jerky. Soooooo overcooked.

FINN's was AMAZING!! I've never had such amazing pork chops! Omg I could eat that for the rest of my life it was so good! My husband loved the oysters (I'm not a fan of oysters) He loved his plate, I loved mine, the entire experience was outstanding! Our server was a gentleman who truly took care of us, I wish I could remember his name to include him on this, because that man deserves a raise! I think he was a bald guy if that helps, anyway, he was the best! And to the cooks, also a 10/10! They know what they're doing. The view next to the Clark fork was beautiful as well! All in all, we will be back for amazing service and amazing food! Excellent job Finns!
