We stayed at the Motel 6 - University location in Missoula, MT on the night of June 22nd. This was absolutely the worst motel my family and I have ever been to. I would have given it 0 stars, if possible, and I plan to file a complaint against this location. First off, I made the reservations online. Upon arriving, we were put in the "annex" of the Motel 6...these were NOT the rooms listed on the website. The room smelled so bad. My son was afraid all of his clothes were going to stink. To add - the sheets were not clean, there were no extra blankets (we asked for one and were told the entire motel only had two extra blankets left and both were dirty), the bathroom was disgusting (water damage, dirty walls, mold under the mat) so nobody showered there, there was no working heat/AC, we had no internet (which was included with our room and prevented me from getting work done I needed to complete while there), our TV only got one channel, the closet and a cupboard were both filthy, and the closet wasn't even put together, and there was mold under the sink/counter area outside of the bath area. The pet area was horrendous with cigarette butts, alcohol cans, Band-Aids, the garbage can was full of pet waste. I have photos of everything, as I could not believe that we were being charged $140.00+ to stay in a place so filthy and that the management was okay with the misrepresentation of their motel. Additionally, I talked to a man on the phone, who I was told was one of the managers who did not care about what was happening, said I could go somewhere else and he would give me a full refund (even though he knew it was late and that EVERY hotel in Missoula was sold out), and refused to give me his name when I asked him for it. When I asked, I was told, "My name does not matter." I was told by an employee that he only knew the man’s first name was Ron(?). I'm not even sure if that's the case. This place should not even be in business, and the owners (which I found out are a group of men, who nobody seemed to even know who they were either) should be ashamed for running such an unethical business. They are in a great town and it would be easy for them to offer at least CLEAN facilities, as it is clear that the town is busy. Instead, they are taking advantage of the fact that people may need a place to stay no matter what and are just taking money. It's wrong on so...
Read moreWe booked this hotel through Hotels.com, and the entire experience was a nightmare from start to finish. When we checked in, the floor was filthy—I didn’t even feel comfortable taking my shoes off. The air conditioning unit was covered in dust and grime, and there were no basic room amenities: no shampoo or microwave.
Things only got worse when we turned on the shower and saw hair swirling in several inches of standing water. It was honestly one of the grossest hotels I've ever seen, especially for $175 a night.
The front desk staff was inconsistent. One woman was kind enough to clean our floor, but another was rude and aggressive saying we couldn't get a refund because we spent more then 20 mins in the room (we didn't). Some other guests were friendly but were smoking right outside their rooms, adding to the unpleasant atmosphere.
While we were waiting at the front desk to ask for our room to be cleaned, a man in front of us was asking for a woman’s room number—which, thankfully, the staff declined to share. Moments later, a staff member mentioned they couldn’t access another room because the latch was locked from the inside, and the guest was supposed to have checked out. They said they were going to call the police to make sure everything was okay. That was the final red flag for us.
To make matters worse, when we tried to get a refund and leave, the front desk refused to help us. Since we booked through Hotels.com, we had to go through them, and that process was just as frustrating. Hotels.com called motel6 and the front desk staff refused to help them too. So we ended up booking another hotel for 300$ a night instead of 175 (without a refund) and were told we’d have to wait 48–72 hours to hear back from a motel 6 manager if we would get a refund or not.
We were traveling with a baby and didn’t feel safe staying another minute. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel, especially for families.
We ended up getting a full refund...
Read moreTHIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST PLACES I HAVE EVER STAYED IN!!! The room was a 1 bed little kitchenette, the floor was sticky, there was stains on the sheets, sticky stains on the counter, night stand that was stuck to the wall, and on the platform bed. I paid $224.47, for this room, which was totally outrageous! I understand that everywhere is understaffed but I didn't take my shoes off and I didn't even bring up my bag I slept in my clothes, There was no soap or shampoos. there was even a beer top in the sink showing that that room was never cleaned. Both my husband and I thought about going to sleep in our car, that is how bad the room was, not to mention the price gauging that happened. I have never paid $224.47 for a room even at high end hotels when I have gone for training. Even at a low end Hotel (which I stayed in on my way back from my trip in MT) the room was not as bad and I less then $100 for a room with 2 beds, I also stayed at a different hotel La Quinta by Wyndam and it was about the last room in town again, that was a 2 bed kitchenette and I only payed $145.XX, that room was very clean and bigger than what I paid for at the Motel 6 University Missoula MT I was told that the $224.47 was standard for all of MT, and I wasn't going to find anything cheaper. It was a shame that was the only room in Missoula MT at the time as there was football games going on. I did try a couple of different hotels before which had no rooms, This room was very unacceptable. I have never stayed in a room that was very sticky from the floors, nightstands, counters, I took pictures with my phone. Yet when I look for the prices for that room now, it's not as high as they had me pay Also when I went back to the front desk there was no one around, as they didn't give me a receipt for the room, and when I back in the morning the girl didn't know how to do it...
