Black Rock Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Missouri City

I visited this coffee bar with a friend yesterday (03/24/2024) in the afternoon and had a very bad experience. I ordered 2 regular brewed coffees with cream and sugar. They will add cream and sugar, so I requested them to make sure that the coffee remains hot. After 20 minutes of waiting in the dining room, I went to check on my order. There were no workers at the counter - I could see customers waiting at the drive-through window unattended. I waited at the counter for several minutes and one of the workers came out. I asked about my coffee orders and was told that they will make the coffees immediately. I went back to the table and after a couple of minutes my two coffees are placed on the counter. No attempts were made to draw my attention, but since I was constantly checking, I went and picked up the beverages. Coffee was lukewarm at the best. Coffee was too sweet to enjoy. Made a determination to avoid that...

Initially, this establishment was a breathe of fresh air to the area!The flavored coffees are great, but the regular coffee is not as strong as some would like, but ok. What was great, was the breakfast options. What's disappointing is the change of menu. Why replace one of the best almond croissants and breakfast pastries one could ever have? It was a weekend ritual for my entire family, friends and at least to indulge, as well as a 3 day weekday for me and hubby. A breakfast taco and a muffin sandwich can by purchased on every corner in this area. The menu is now lame! Not as excited to return to this location now, but maybe for a the Mexican or Caramel truffle every now and then. I love going to Blackrock because of the Danishes. The coffee is good, but the Danish is the only reason I go there most of the time. Visited on Thursday only to find out that they no longer served it, so I left and went to Laredo Taco instead. Went this morning to give one of the items a shot. I got the chorizo sandwich and I wish I hadn't ordered it. The bread was dry, the chorizo was spicy, and the overall item tasted off. If the item was spicy, it should have been stated in the menu since some of us encounter digestive issues when consuming spice, myself included. Additionally, It reminds me of the food that starbucks serves in which that it tastes off and unapetizing. I should have stuck to Laredo Taco instead.
