Best Asian food in the area. Everything is fresh, authentic and absolutely delicious. I have been there twice. Both times I have had the best egg rolls I have eaten in a very long time. They are thick, juicy and very hardy. They are the epitome of the perfect egg roll. The first time there we had the peking duck and the duck soup. Both very excellent and well served. We split the dish for two and had more than enough to eat. The second time, my partner had the wonton soup and said it was very good and even included the little slivers of pork that traditionally are part of the soup but you don't find everywhere. I love hot and sour soup, and Fuya Cafe hot and sour soup is frankly the best. It is so fresh and also has a couple more elements to it than I've seen at other places. This last time we got the walnut shrimp and frankly it was above and beyond. The walnuts were very delicately glazed, the sauce included medium sized pieces of diced apples, and the shrimp was absolutely perfect. The attention to detail and freshness in the kitchen is evident. What I also really like is that the restaurant is immaculate. They are very neat and organized. While we were there this last time they were setting up for a large party, and the floor was already clean but the manager was going around with a broom and dustpan and sweeping up under the tables to make sure everything was spotless. In summary: excellent, above average food at normal prices ( 2 large egg rolls 3.95, soup 1.95, walnut shrimp big enough to split 16.95), excellent service and cleanliness. This...
Read moreWe spent $50 for 2 entrees and 2 appetizers for take out. The woman on the phone said it would be 20-25 minutes before it was ready for pick up. Our food was supposed to be ready at 7:05, but it wasn't ready until about 30 minutes later.
The crab cheese puffs had about half a teaspoon of filling inside, which was mostly shredded crab meat and practically no cream cheese. We also ordered the bbq spare ribs, which were on the tougher side and came with regular American style bbq sauce instead of an Asian bbq sauce. The fried rice was okay, but could use a little more seasoning. The entree potions are huge, so I wish I could say you get your money's worth, but the food we had was not great. The orange beef was overcooked (very dry, stringy beef and HUGE chunks that are hard to eat), there was too much breading/batter so it was soggy too. The sauce was too sweet for my liking. The chicken teriyaki was mediocre at best. It did not have much flavor.
I'm not trying to write this to be mean, but the restaurant needs to address these issues. Honestly I hope it was just a rough day for them and not a habitual occurrence. However, I still don't think we will be...
Read moreI recently dined at Fuya Cafe and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience. I ordered the fish in Thai chili sauce, expecting a delightful balance of crispy and spicy. However, the breaded fish became soggy almost immediately, leaving me with a dish that was far from enjoyable. The texture was a major letdown.
Additionally, I ordered fried rice, hoping for a flavorful side with a mix of vegetables. Instead, what I received was plain white rice with soy sauce. There were no veggies or additional ingredients to enhance the dish, making it incredibly bland and uninspired.
Overall, the meal lacked the quality and attention to detail I expected. I hope the restaurant can improve these aspects for a better dining experience...
