Hotspot Cajun Seafood House - MO City — Restaurant in Missouri City

Been to this place many times. Have always had excellent service excellent food. Today however was a completely different experience. Not pleasant at all. Service was horrible. Food well let’s just say we ordered crawfish (2lbs) ate a couple the other 2 people I was with ate like 2 each. Crawfish had a really bad taste to it. Anyone that eats crawfish knows there can be a few bad ones in a batch. So after the second one we were asking each other does it taste funny to you we all said yes. The crawfish had a grey color to it so we decided not to eat it. After a really long wait for our server to come back to our table, we make him aware and he shrugs his shoulders and looks at us like ok what do you want me to do about it, but he doesn’t say anything we ask him to take it. So he does. Comes back later on and asks if we want anything else, we say no. We finish and kinda clean up the table he never brought us our check so we go up to the counter to pay. We pay not noticing that the crawfish was still on the ticket. We ask about the crawfish being removed and he (our waiter) says that we ate almost all of it. We disagreed and asked for the manager he proceeded to point to himself as in letting us know he was the manager. So another person behind counter goes to the back and comes back and states that since we did not make him aware immediately that the crawfish was bad and that they normally leave product at table we would still be charged for it. She also stated that they weighed it in the back and there was less than a pound left didn’t show us there was just a pound left and not taking into consideration that the head and claws of the crawfish weigh more than the meat and those were put in the trash bucket. He (manager/waiter) told us that the crawfish was frozen. We told him we were not aware of that and if we would had known that we would have never ordered it. He says “it clearly states it on the menu”. We had a menu at our table grabbed it on the way out and nowhere on that menu does it state that the crawfish is frozen. Super disappointed I have never experienced that in any restaurant. The other issue was that our waiter seemed to be very open, friendly, happy and smiling with all of the other customers and was not at all like that with us...

I went to the counter and ordered my food. They informed me that it would be ready in 10 minutes. I sat in the restaurant to wait on my food. After about 10 minutes. I went back to the counter where I place the order and asked about a bag that was sitting there And gave her my name. it was mine!! I asked her how long has this bag been sitting here she said about five minutes if the bag has been sitting there for five minutes no one called my name to informed me that my order was ready , the waitress said that she would have them to redo it again. all they did was put it back under the heat lamp or dunk it back in the grease again and move the food around. They did not remake my food because there’s no way that you can remake fried catfish fried oysters and fried shrimp and less than two minutes. I would have liked my money back or some type of compensation but I was in a hurry. the food was not flavorful. It was not seasoned. It was bland. The fish did not have any seasoning it was greasy and so were the fries the fried oysters my husband said was fine, but the fried shrimp did not have any seasoning or flavor to it. Will recommend this spot NOPE!!!! My husband had the headless deveined shrimp that they have. When I arrived the server was friendly and greeted me and told me to sit anywhere. The restaurant was HOT it was cooler outside than it was inside. Each table had crumbs under. I sat at a booth next to the wall there was literally splatters all over the wall. She turned my tv on and handed me the remote but the remote wouldn’t change the channel, so the tv ended up just turning off. I asked for a margarita && the slushy machine must have been down because the drink was completely liquid. I ordered the combo 1 && the shrimp were dirty. The crawfish and crab legs were ok. The “juice” was unflavored oil. The server told me the hotspot special was the most popular so I got in extra spicy it but I was just oil and garlic. I asked for extra dry seasoning and the girl didn’t know what I was talking about she brought me out extra salt. &&& I got nauseous while I was eating so I couldn’t finish it.
