Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Missouri

Let me start by saying I voted against going to this location affectionately known as GhettoBees! Overall service was great THANKS TO OUR SERVER KENDRA! She was the only thing that made the visit worth it! She was sweet...attentive and patient. My dissatisfaction is solely on the manager on duty can’t remember what I was TOLD her name was but it begins with a M! I ordered the Salmon with two sides off the 2for30 and when my food came out the only thing hot was the salmon...mashed potatoes and broccoli was cold...I was able to tolerate the broccoli but I realized I needed hot mashed potatoes so I asked for our waiter and M (didn’t know she was managing nor did she offer the information) ...anyway M says what do you need I told her my mashed potatoes were cold and asked for hot ones. By the time I got them I wasn’t hungry anymore...

I asked Kendra to mention my experience and she readily obliged but I only found out because I had to ask once Kendra brought the checks...I asked her if she mentioned it and Kendra replied oh yes “She said sorry.” 😑😑😑😑 I was going to let it slide but I thought about it and I was like can you get the manager please and what do you know it’s M so I said it would have been nice if you came over to apologize instead of sending a “sorry” to the table so her reply “I said I was sorry when you asked for them to be replaced.” My reply....”I didn’t know you were the manager but that’s ok I’ll just go online and put my review there!” Then she said “Well what would you like for me to do!” I said I just thought it was distasteful not to come to the table... she all of a sudden wanted to “make it right” now let’s be clear I didn’t need a free meal that wasn’t the goal! Maybe 15 20%off...coupon or an in person sorry! She took 10bucks off my meal but the damage was done!

BTW if you are not from the area GhettoBees is the location on HALLSFERRY...my suggestion drive a bit further into Florissant and go to the one on Lindbergh or on St Charles Rock Rd!

We went to the Applebee's on New Halls Ferry Road in St. Louis and I had a great experience at this particular Applebee's.

It was a very nice and comfortable place to have dinner. Everything was SUPER clean and orderly and the food was GREAT!!! I was with my family and we all agreed!

Applebee's, for those who don't know is like a mixture between a bar and restaurant-like atmosphere. It is very similar to another restaurant called Houlahan (which is another great place). But, Applebee's (like Houlahans) was made for a general audience of course. That is, it's a place that one could bring their kids to and they have a kids menu, etc. and I myself have been going to Applebee's since I was a kid.

Applebee's is a great restaurant and this location was great! Now, our waiter was a little dry. He had no soul, no sense of humor; his personality would drain a person's energy and even worse is he didn't at least TRY to act more enthused so that I could at least give him SOME benefit of the doubt!

Thus, this Applebee's got a 5/5 rating here on Google while he got his rating through the form of tips and we tipped him accordingly! His tip/rating was zilch - to help encourage him to find another job instead of ruining it for other people or at least have a better attitude around people!

But, everybody else who worked at this restaurant was nice and when looking at the bigger/overall picture, ONE unenthused waiter wasn't enough to be a reflection of the whole restaurant because everything else was VERY VERY positive and we still had fun! He was just a very small and minute spec in the puzzle and such people could be found anywhere!

Thus, I'd say if one is trying to find a good place to eat, one could always bet on Applebee's! And this was what me and my family were saying while we were trying to think of what we were going to have for dinner.

Thus, this was a great restaurant and it definitely receives my stamp...

My landlord wanted to take me to dinner for my birthday. We choose this location because it was close to the house. When we got seated we sat there for a few minutes and finally our server came. She took our orders and that was that. During our meal I got a text and was asked to being a snack home so I ordered the wonton tacos. I made sure to tell the waiter this was a separate order. She responded "so your not adding this to this meal"? No this is separate. Once we asked for the check she came and sat only one on the table. My landlord looked over it and signed. She picked it up and walked off. Now as she was passing the table my landlord asked has her tab been paid and the waiter told her yes, handed her her check and asked me "are you ready to pay now"? Me noticing she didn't have a tab ready I said yes and handed her the cash. I immediately told my landlord that wasn't right and she looks at her bill and she that she was changed for the tacos.(so why asked me if I'm ready to cash out if you know you added it to the main bill) I tell my landlord she trying to get over and she immediately go talk to the boss. She claims she died know the tacos was added to the bill but it was a whole different bill than the one she bring to the table. Once the boss asked for he cash i was told she pulls it from her back pocket and hands it to him. Now I guess he didn't want to say anything then but he should have asked why is this in your pocket or something! Needless to say, the service was slow and horrible! Our plates were dirty, as was the table and we both took our food to go because it wasn't good. The chicken was way burnt and the pasta was dry. Verrrrry dry! Salad was also. The tacos were smashed by the lid so they were more like a taco salad! Overall very disappointed in this Applebee's. My landlord nor I will not return ever again! Not to be stolen from anyway! Always check...
