This poor restaurant goes up against our hometown favorite, which is not an easy task, so keep that in mind...
In order of the ratings questions:
The food was ok. Nothing I saw was under about $15, and that was one thing. Most seemed to start at around $22. Probably typical for the area. It was not as good as It's hoped, but everyone agreed it was generally good. My friends shared chille relleno, and both said it was good in an "ok" kind of way. My kids are untrustworthy when it comes to food opinions, but I thought the flavor of my son's chicken tenders and fries was pretty good, considering they are for kids and were probably frozen. The tenders had a really fine grind. Even finer than certain big fast food chains famous for kid's nuggets. My daughter's cheese quesadilla was pretty standard. My chicken flauta was...both disappointing and also wonderful. It was very full of chicken and cheese, and had a nice crisp outside, which was awesome! But they didn't have much flavor. They didn't come with any sour cream or quacamole and any other sauce/condiment. You could order at least sour cream on the side, but I dislike paying extra for stuff like that, and since I didn't know what they would taste like I didn't know if I'd need any. I ended up dressing them up a tad with the salsa brought out with chips automatically-- which were also ok but not amazing. Salsa was a bit hot, but not too bad. Rice and beans were on par when the rest. Nothing was bad, but everything could have done with more flavor.
The service here was superb. Very friendly staff overall, attentive waitstaff (at least 2 separate servers came by many times to check in) throughout the meal, and even as we were getting ready to leave. When they brought our plates after a short wait, they came with a warning of "hot plate". I really wish they wouldn't do hot plates for children's meals. My 7yo daughter was excited and hungry, and immediately touched the plate. She was ok, but it put such a terrible damper on her mood, she ended up eating only 1 section of her quesadilla, a food she normally adores. She was in tears, but mostly from embarrassment. However, I must give props to our sever. He was very kind, and stayed until I confirmed that she was ok and didn't need anything.
Finally, the atmosphere. It was quiet when we went, and not terribly busy. It was a Wednesday night in early April, so about what I'd expect. The place is big, but has very tall booth seats and walls between sections, so I'm guessing the noise level isn't horrible even when they are filled. There is color and art everywhere. It approaches too much, but doesn't quite get to that level for me.
In all, I might go again, but would probably prefer to try another...
Read moreWow! Great service and food. This is exactly what restaurant service should be like. From the moment we walked in the door, everyone was super friendly. The lady who sat us was super friendly and genuinely happy. She quickly sat us as soon as we walked in! She was already waiting on us once we made it into the restaurant. The other staff members continue to work as a team. One server kept up our drinks, chips, and kept the table cleared of dirty dishes and such. The other server took care of our food order. After the food runner delivered our dishes, we were thrilled with our food and portions! After several days of hiking on vacation, this is exactly what we needed. The manager/owner came over afterward to ask where we were traveling fun and make some small talk about our visit to Moab. This is the type of environment we should see at every restaurant around the country. Genuine staff and amazing food!!!! Note: for those of you not into spicy salsa.... this salsa is spicy to some. The kids did not like it and thought I was crazy taking huge scoops with my chips. I think the salsa was amazing. Real salsa with a true kick of flavor. Bathrooms were also clean and stocked! Will definitely visit again if we are ever...
Read moreStopped in after a day of hiking and driving in beautiful Moab looking for a decent meal. Being that it was around the holidays, options were limited but Fiesta Mexicana seemed to check all our boxes.
The atmosphere is nice, but could have been better if the employees weren’t loudly chatting on their cell phones two tables over the entire time. Waiter was okay, came over quickly and took our order. Another employee brought out the drinks and chips.
Food was decent and pretty much what we expected. Mango margarita tasted more like pineapple but it was still good. The reviews about the mountain of lettuce on the tostadas/ tacos weren’t kidding. Had to search for my cheese though. Seems they try to do try to overcompensate with lettuce.
We did stay a little after they closed but they were incredibly rude about it. Online it did state it was open later so we honestly did not know. My brother was finishing his margarita and was rushed out. I was in the bathroom and noticed they had already mopped the floors when he called me telling me to come outside. I’m from Florida where hospitality is our number one industry and this is something that would be unheard of in any restaurants there. I can see why this place is...
