Nestled within the confines of a grocery store, 7Spice Grocery and Grill offers a unique dining experience. Our visit was marked by a mixture of delightful surprises and minor disappointments.
One aspect that undoubtedly shone was the service. The staff was attentive and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant dining atmosphere. As we delved into the menu, our anticipation was high, given the restaurant's name, which prominently features the word "spice."
The culinary journey began on a high note with a side salad featuring a zesty citrus dressing and a bowl of lentil soup that proved to be a delicious prelude to the main courses. The interplay of flavors in these appetizers was impressive.
However, as we ventured further into the main courses, our enthusiasm was somewhat tempered. Our party ordered a variety of dishes, including the lamb pastry, chicken shawarma sandwich, baba ghanoush, and shish kabob sandwich. While each dish was visually appealing, there was a consistent theme of lacking the bold flavors one might expect from a restaurant emphasizing "spice." The flavors seemed rather subdued, leaving us hoping for a more vibrant taste experience.
Despite this culinary drawback, 7Spice does have its merits. The prices are quite reasonable, making it a budget-friendly choice for those looking to explore Middle Eastern cuisine. It's worth noting that the restaurant's location within a grocery store provides a distinctive backdrop for your meal. The setting, though somewhat unconventional, surprisingly exudes a pleasant and relaxed ambiance, making it an intriguing blend of dining and shopping.
Speaking of the grocery store itself, it offers a diverse array of food items, pots, pans, teapots, and service ware. However, it's important to be aware that the prices within the grocery section are on the higher side.
In summary, 7Spice Grocery and Grill is a mixed bag. The service is top-notch, and the appetizers, particularly the side salad and lentil soup, showcase the kitchen's culinary potential. However, the main courses leave room for improvement, lacking the expected intensity of flavors. The restaurant's reasonable prices and unique dining environment make it a distinctive choice. For those who appreciate a fusion of dining and grocery shopping, 7Spice Grocery and Grill may offer an intriguing...

Kudos to the kitchen staff and owner/ manager communicating to get food out quickly!!! This is how a restaurant is done right! Wish that the grocery store would raise the standards as it is in the restaurant. Veggies need to be gone ! Not a good look! But rest of store excellent!
What a great idea / concept having restaurant and grocery store. Restaurant is located in the back, which does not make it weird at all, just nicely tugged away in the back like a Treasure. The atmosphere is cozy dimmed lighting ( yes itâs clean ) with up to date dining furniture. Restroom is cleanish ( could use some detail cleaning around bottom of toilets) with nice fixtures. /Seating : You are asked to wait ( according to the board ) to be seated. Sort of unclear for first timers coming who will seat you since there is no desk or someone that is there to seat you. Just be patient, someone will come and seat you. We were greeted and seated by a very friendly female who was quick to ask what we would like to drink ( the extra smile made this first impression even better). Food: You will have a selection of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food. Vegan and Meats! There is something for everyoneâs pocket book. We had entrees with lamb which came with selections of soup or salad . We opted for soups : The carrot soup is something to dream about! Soooo good. The appetizer was shrimp with feta yum- lamb was good - not great. ( a bit too tuff). Overall we feel that a 4.5 is well deserved.
Store Front : So much from so many countries- Greek Turkish Lebanese Persian Indian etc products. If you are a adventurous cook a must go to check out. Itâs somewhat pricey but other stuff thatâs hard to get is ok in my book. Clean store ( veggies looked a bit sad) both cashiers on ( memorial weekend) Sunday and Monday not matching the friendliness of the restaurant. Why? So the store gets a 3 because of the overall experience and taking everything in consideration. I say...
Read moreI want to make 1 thing perfectly clear; the following review has "NOTHING" to do with the store. The store has some amazing pastries, coffee, olive oils....etc., unfortunately, this is where the good comments end! My wife and I have been eating Mediterranean food for years, regrettably, our favorite Mediterranean restaurant closed. When we heard about 7Spice, we drove to Mobile from Biloxi to check this place out, and have some lunch...
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, OR MONEY!!!
After we were seated, it took about 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken. The place was almost half full. After we got our drinks, it took 15 minutes for someone to ask what we'd like; we said we were still looking. After another 10 minutes our server returned, and we placed our order. I ordered the Shawarma beef "ENTREE " and my wife ordered the Shawarma chicken "ENTREE". Please bare in mind that all through our ordeal, other patrons were coming in, getting seated, placing their order for appetizers, placing their order for their main course, receiving their food, eating their food, paying their bill then leaving, and all this time, we still haven't received our food. Finally, after about 40 minutes (give or take), the server comes with our food......they brought the wrong order! we had them send it back. after another 20 minutes, they brought food! it was the same wrong order, so, again, we sent it back. after another 10 minutes, they brought another food order. My wife's order was correct, but for the 3rd and final time, mine wasn't. My wife's chicken shawarma was anything but chicken shawarma. The chicken was drier than sandpaper, and had no hint of shawarma seasoning on it. They kept saying that my order would be out soon, yet, other patrons were in and out in 30 minutes.
I have been to many Mediterranean restaurants all over the world, and this place was, by far, the worst. From the service, to the food quality, I can't see how this place can stay in business. The place was also filthy.
The store part is worth the trip, and we will surely be back, but the restaurant...
