The Boiling Pot — Restaurant in Mobile

Went for the snow Crab. Price was decent for fresh seafood. Ordered headless shrimp with Cole slaw and hush puppies as a side and 2 snow Crab clusters for me and my husband. My husband ended up filling up beforehand so I ended up being the one to eat a little of it all. One cluster was a little dry but still good the other was on point perfect and delicious. The shrimp was perfect decent hush puppies the potatoes were mush and not great and the corn was super dry and upon first bite you think we'll that sucks. But then the heat hits you out of no where. So spicy. I like that but others may not. Hush puppies where fantastic! Unfortunately we didn't get the Cole slaw and they did not have the sausage so it was supposed to be replaced with eggs but sadly we didn't get those either. (It was a to go order so i didnt know until we were home 20minutes away) Overall we will eat there again and I wouldn't turn anyone away from trying it. Also a small part of the reason I deducted a star was because I called to place the order over the phone and was told they would only accept orders online or in person, I don't like doing orders online so I had to go in person then sit and wait for it to be ready the whole process could've taken about 40 minutes from the time I left my home until returning home instead it took...

I've had no less than five coworkers recommend this place as the best restaurant in Mobile. I had my reservations but I took my family in to try it tonight. A whopping five out of five stars from us. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The food is cooked to perfection, seasoned amazingly and served with honestly the best customer service I have received in the entire south.

Jasmine showed genuine care for us and easily deserves double her current wage, even if the food had been terrible (which it wasn't at all - the food was really, really excellent) her service alone would have made us repeat customers. We could see and hear that the rest of the staff were equally as good, though we didn't get their names.

Leading the team was the manager/owner, whose name we also did not get, and his genuine pride, care and love in the restaurant showed, and not in any form of conceited way. He had every right to take pride in his accomplishments, and in his vision of what his restaurant will become.

The Boiling Pot in Mobile, AL is a must stop along any tour of the Gulf or of the best restaurants in America. As long as it stays the way it was tonight, I cannot ever...

3 stars cuz I couldn't eat the food. As this was our 5th time coming here, I finally decided to get crab claws at first. Started eating them, had a hair on one of them(not mine) and it smelled of ammonia when I ate them. Returned to counter. Let the cooks know what was wrong. They fixed the problem and gave me a platter of fried shrimp.. once I bit into the new order of shrimp, I smelled ammonia. That's my concern. And the place was not clean. Dead bugs in the windows. I wish it was better. I won't be coming back because I feel sick now. But the employees were nice and helpful with our order. My hubby got the pasta. Which was good. And we always get crab cakes, which are always amazing.

Edit 1 hr after we left. We both were sent to the bathroom. Thats a major problem for us. The food was good while it lasted. Hope it's better next time we decide to tell someone about it. I hate giving false reviews to people. Maybe it's the storing method for the fish that needs updating. But I. Sure I'm not the only one who got sick. No...
