At the confluence of Southern hospitality and the rich culinary traditions of New Orleans, there lies an unassuming gem that graces the Pinebrook Shopping Center in Mobile, Alabama—PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans. This establishment, while modest in its appearance, offers an experience that transcends the ordinary and firmly plants itself in the pantheon of exceptional coffeehouses.
Upon entering PJ’s, one is immediately struck by the atmosphere, a harmonious blend of warmth and charm that invites both the weary traveler and the local connoisseur to indulge in a moment of quiet repose. The service, an oft-overlooked aspect in the fast-paced rhythm of contemporary life, here rises to a level that can only be described as exemplary. The staff, with an effortless grace, manage to balance efficiency with a genuine warmth that leaves one feeling not merely served, but truly cared for.
The pastries, those delicate temptations that beckon from behind the glass, are a revelation in freshness and flavor. Each bite is a testament to the care and craftsmanship that define the culinary ethos of PJ’s. Whether you are indulging in a flaky croissant or a decadent muffin, you will find yourself transported, if only momentarily, to the vibrant streets of New Orleans.
But it is perhaps the granitas that steal the show. These icy concoctions, a perfect marriage of bold flavor and refreshing coolness, are nothing short of a triumph. Whether as a respite from the sweltering Southern heat or as a delightful complement to your morning routine, the granitas at PJ’s are an absolute delight that must be experienced to be believed.
In an age where mediocrity often masquerades as excellence, PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans stands as a beacon of quality and authenticity. It is a place where tradition meets innovation, where service is an art form, and where each visit leaves you with a longing to return. For those fortunate enough to find themselves in Mobile, this coffeehouse is not merely a stop on your journey; it is a destination in...
Read moreI read the older reviews before posting mine. Most of the complaints were laughable or seriously biased. I’ve been to almost every coffee shop in Mobile. Yellow Hammer, Coffee Monster, both coffee places on Old Shell, Serda, and the major franchises. PJs is exclusive to Louisiana, South Miss, and Mobile. They have less than 30 locations. Maybe under 20. They so used single origin beans. All their beans are fair trade. (Refuting complaints by others). When you go to a newly opened coffee shop ran by college aged kids there will be hiccups. People are harsh and idiotic. Sad to see the one and two star reviews posted from back when they opened. That being said they are better than Yellow Hammer by a mile which ranks them above the major coffee franchises. They are better than the two niche mid town coffee shops (forgot their names). They aren’t better than Coffee Monster. Their cold brew is some of the best I’ve tasted and it’s relative cheap for what you are getting. I understand being a homeboy and supporting small business but this franchise is owned by a Mobile family. Yellow Hammer does not correctly roast their beans. They are acidic and bitter. The last time I went to yellow hammer I was given old expresso which ruined the drink I had them make. I now exclusively get coffee from Coffee...
Read moreThis really disappoints me to write this review, considering I absolutely normally love PJs coffee. But ever since the one in Mobile opened I’ve had an issue every time I’ve went to their location. The cinnamon rolls and the muffins are never cooked all the way through, the coffee that we order is always made incorrectly, and today she waited until after I ordered to tell that they were only taking cash. Really not a great way to start off a brand new business. We have an issue every time we go to this location. Now if you want a good PJs experience and are willing to make the drive for it, I suggest going to the SPANISH FORT location. We never have an issue there. we go there every Sunday before church. Their food is always top-notch no issues with our drinks either. Disappointing, that we have to drive 20 minutes if we want a good PJs...
