I had never eaten at McAlister's until I was given a gift card to McAlister's a few months ago and I love it. The food is great. I always order a sandwich and the chicken tortilla soup. I love the chicken tortilla soup. Although the food is wonderful, the service during the lunch time hours isn't so great. I always order my food ahead of time. During lunch, it is super packed. They that three registers, two for people coming in to order and one for pickup orders. Whenever I go during lunch, they only have one register for people coming in and the register for pickup open. The line for the people coming in is always to the door. I would think that since it is so busy, they would have them all open but no. Whenever I eat McAlister's, it is during my 30 minute lunch break at work. I order ahead because I only have so much time. Although the food is great, they usually forget something in my order and it takes them forever to get whatever is missing. I don't see how as they have several employees behind the counter and only two people on the register. If I'm not missing something, they might be slow checking people out at the pickup order register. One time, they checked out a woman in front of me who had two separate orders. They gave her one but didn't don't have the second one in the system. I was the only person behind the woman. The employee proceeded to causally look around for the order until they realized, the second order was at another location. They could have easily checked me out and gave me my food, then looked around for the order. The staff is very friendly but they are super slow moving. Read moreAPI April 8, 2021. Tried to order take out by phone but the number on the web site was not correct. I went inside and placed my order, one sandwich, to go. There were at least 8 servers behind the counter and every so often one would come out and ask the name of those waiting for an order. I was told my would be ready in 5 minutes twice in a 15 minute span. I had finally waited long enough when 2 people that ordered after I did were given their orders. After waiting 24 minutes, based on the time on my receipt, I had enough and asked to cancel my order and get my money back. This same cashier that waited on me originally, told me that I would have to wait on the manager. The manager was in the kitchen and yelled over the counter that my order would be ready in a minute. I told her that I didn’t want my Oder, just my money back. She asked if I paid cash or used a card. I said I used a card and she said that I would have to wait until she could issue a credit. The manager finall walked out of the kitchen area, into an office and came out a while later, handed the credit receipt to a server, looked at me and said give this to him! Read moreI placed a pick up order at 11:40 this morning and per the website was told it would be ready by 12:15 P.M. I wasn’t able pick up my order until 12:45. After I paid for the meal I was told my order still was not ready, an hour after placing the order. I requested a refund due to I didn’t have time to wait for them to make my order because I had to be back at work. The manager refunded it, no apology just gave me back the refund receipt and walked away. Once at work I decided I would just use Waitr to place my order again and have it delivered. What an idiotic mistake on my part. After my food arrived at 3 PM and I began to go through my items I noticed parts of my order were missing. What is the deal?
