I've been in the restaurant buisness for 26 years and never seen such a newbie staff Service is slow People take their pets to sit outside and is a food safety problem Brisket is fatty Drinks are not consistent Drinks taste differently depending on who makes a drink Street corn has no fennel in it but they put fennel on it Ribs dry Chicken low quality Nothing has a smoke ring Everything looks like sauced after it was dried out first Don't know what bbq this is some stuff dry rubbed some vinegar like the slaw some sauced after so is this mid west or Texas or Memphis bbq There is cocktails on the menu that does not complement the food one if you can't tell where the food is attached to regionally how can you tie your drink menu to it I dont get why the one t.v. is on the wall where the person who has the best view is the bartender The place looks like a cafeteria Food looks like it was not cold smoked at 220f but that explains why by definition it's not bbq Food is bad and overpriced, everything is spicy. Pulled pork sandwiches arrived soaked in grease 4 oz burgers are usually 73 precent to 80 precent beef so the quarter pound burger does not shrink as much that why places that serve better beef serve 1/2 pound burgers and as for price point if you save money to get a hockey puck it's not saving anything all you get is poor quality for cheeper price
So if you have been to places like lock hart Texas or Austin or Memphis you will understand what I am talking about. So my advise is don't go here if you want to not waste your money on what is not bbq just food thrown out and called bbq because I don't know what this is but garbage and I should know I've been in the restaurant buisness for 26 years and I would not serve this food to my worst enemy.
Music when they have it is not made for the room. Meaning it's not a band made room acoustically. They probly have no permits for the band like some restaurants in Montclair.
Oh and I like you can play games outside like Cornhole where the beanbag touches the ground and you are eating or drinking at the same time with who knows what is on your hands and you touch other places inside with out washing your hands and have staf or whatever on a clean table where someone else eats
Now wood piles outside and bbqs outside not good for breathing for asthmatic people and gives places for mice to hide and how clean is that practice out near the parking lot and the street and with people walking around heck we put guards on salad bars but I see nothing for a BBQ. Enjoy your ribs with a side...
Read more!!Beware of this Establishment !!! Rude to Disabled.!! They are not to be trusted, rude, and nasty when questioned on billing. We had the misfortune of partronizing during the Montclair Jazz fest on Saturday 8/12/23. I was ordering drinks for my friend who was Blind. After ordering drinks I ask my buddy for his card so we could pay. I was given a pad to enter my PIN for my credit card. This was the second transaction. The attendance snatched the pad away from me after i entered my pin to hit the No receipt button to keep me from asking for a receipt. When I complained why she said No receipt. This would not have been an issue if I were a regular but I'm a out of towner here for the concert. I wanted my receipt. A young man standing next to her stepped and and accused me of yelling at his staff. Which was nothing close to what happened. We were standing next to the concert stage. It was LOUD, you had to speak in somewhat of a louder voice to be heard. That was just the beginning he asked for my card. He swiped it two to three times then said he could not find our order which was just moments ago. Then handed the card back to me and told me to leave and he took another customer and tried to ignore us. When I told him we were not satisficed with that and he had to complete the transaction with us before taking another customer ,He said he would call the Police if we did not leave. Shocking and horrible. He was so, so, unprofessional, nasty, rude, and now threating to escalate a customer ask for receipt into a Police issue. My buddy who just happens to be a retired Police officer, said we should leave and fight this later. So this is later. The drinks were weak and watered down slushy, not good at all. The service the PIT's. I am going to complain to the local Chamber of Commerce and the Site Manager for the Jazz concert. BTy I mentioned that to him that I met the site Mgr. His response was 'Oh, I'm so Scared' Just Horrible, stay far away from these Pineapple's. M. Hubert...
Read moreThe place is nice but we came here with several friends to celebrate a birthday. I baked a cake and brought it. They wanted to charge us 26 dollars to simply cut the cake there. If you want to bring a cake its just better to go to a brewery or somewhere else. They were not going to cut the cake or bring it out. Charging 26 dollars (we already spent a lot of food and drinks) for simply bringing in a home made cake is plain unethical. In the end, we ended up going home to cut the cake, but we would have chosen an alternate location had we known this policy.
Edit: to reply to the comment below- the amount of money you generate from allowing people to host birthdays (more drinks ordered, more food ordered) more than compensates for the extra table time. I saw plenty of people come and only order a drink or two and sit at the table all night still. We ALL ordered food and beverages continuously. These are things to consider as well. Additionally, I respectfully disagree. Many places I have been to including restaurants are very willing to allow customers to bring birthday cakes. Lastly, your staff did not offer to plate or serve the cakes. Simply charging customers for bringing their own cake is ridiculous. Though you may serve desserts, you do not serve birthday cakes. Lastly, if there were 20 people, at 3 dollar a person fee, you would charge a 60 dollar cake cutting fee?!? What is the cap on this arbitrary rule? I highly recommend going somewhere else for a birthday and stand by my review entirely. Or, I recommend changing this rule that way you can benefit from the profit restaurants make when large groups of people go out...
