New Lucky Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Monterey Park

Friggin spoiled americans and their standards for service annoys the hell out of me. You don't like the service? Don't give the restaurant 1 star, that's stupid. Anyone with common sense awards 2 stars for food, 1 star for service and ambiance, 1 star for price/quality for price, if the food is good and the service is bad, that's maybe 3 stars, not 1 star because you are a spoiled American expecting them to treat you like king.

This being said, I've eaten here numerous times and I have no specific bias towards this place, it's my goto place when everything else has a long line or has changed chefs. This is probably like the 30th best Chinese restaurant in the area, but the majority of those on top30 are severely overpriced (seafood harbour) because they know there are some idiots who value service and 'who' is sitting near you as opposed to food quality, authenticity and price. Also before you judge this place's service or any other place, do me a favor and GO TO CHINA and see how the service is there...it's a cultural thing, to them good service is what we Americans find to be passable. You have to understand that ALL cultures aren't like ours and vice versa. When I eat at a authentic restaurant regardless of the ethnicity, i don't ever assume stuff, because the second you do, you give everyone else a bad rep as a ignorant gwilo.

Some of you idiots giving negative reviews probably think panda express is authentic Chinese food (roflmao) and think all Chinese cuisine is the same.....which is like saying all American food is the...

We just go to this restaurant yesterday (5/18/2023), I order food that lot of people might not will order -there Pork Testinent pot , and 金銀蛋大豆苗( Vegetables with Siver & Gold eggs ) also order their Dessert ( Taro & 銀耳). Their service are good. But happen to see something unexpected A couple take their children eat there , and also packed food to go (when we are there , they seems finished their meals already ) They use credit card to pay ( but not willing to add any tips ), and even come back try to give the food back - and said they don't Like the food....... Because of this , the young waiter been blame by his Boss . I really don't understand this couple what they are thinking - for my personal opinion: Before you step into this restaurant , you can tell they are not a small restaurant to sale you lunch special ( lot of small restaurant - each item on menu easily over $ 10- $11 ) For my personal opinion - if you could not Afford come out to eat - then best way just purchase material and cook at home - also do not do the bad model in front of your young child to let them learn " eat and not pay " such kind bad behavior - that definitely not worth to copy...

It's now named as Taste of MP. New ownership? Not sure! But the lady manger is still in charge that I see. Many times that I went was for lunch. The price is fair. Volume is good. Quality is better than fair. Service is excellent. I enjoyed a lot is the house soup that is served with the meal without extra charge. If you don't know, let me say that most of the time the Cantonese soup is cooked using best fit seasonal ingredients to help maintain good balance of Yin Yang of one's physiological being. The six private rooms is also a plus. Although they are not sound proof, but do provide some degree of privacy for us to have a private party without curious eyes looking at us. Ok to return. I am posting 4 stars only because the fifth is for improvements...
