My sister and I found this place by accident when we were looking for Diamond Bakery. What a great find. We selected dishes from their lunch menu. They ranges from $6.99 to $9.59, and if you ordee 4 dishes, you get a fifth for free. The really nice thing about this place is that they are very transparent about the deal. It is printed on their menu. We had their braised tofu, fried crispy tofu (both are 6.99 of which we got one for free), Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian beef (both 7.99) and preserved vegetables with pork belly (from the most ezpensive category). The soup and rice came with the lunch special. The restaurant isn't much to look at and the service was decent. I gave it a five-star rating because the food waa very good. Each has their own flavor, not the same seasonings like many restaurants. The Kung Pao was spicy but in a good way, just enough to let you know it was cooked with chili but the heat compliments the dish and does not linger. The pork belly was tender and just the right amount of preserved vegetables taste. We are looking forward to return and experience more selections from their menu. We are thinking of trying their wonton dishes next time. Good food, reasonable prices, decent service and if you can't find a space in the parking lot there are plenty of parking...
Read moreAn understated corner like a Chinese Restaurant/Deli is bringing back some nice traditional affair. Even with some misplaced language barrier as some may be saying, everyone needs to understand the focus here is good food, fast service, and not always giving you the warm and fuzzies.
Expect some really long lines around certain holidays. This Cantonese Style Deli is really that good. If you're in line the deli line, just be prepared to order what you need right away because most people here are focused on a task.
Comparatively, they are making some very good Chinese BBQ. Pricing is on par with the quality they are delivering and flavors are close to the excellence that is Cantonese-style BBQ flavors. From their Roast Duck and Roast Pork, the long line is an indication that there are fans of plenty.
Their Soy and/or Steamed whole chicken is slightly above average.
Depending on the seasons and holidays, the deli will also have other items such as a variety of steamed baos and even sticky rice wrapped in tea leaves, known as Joong.
The dining room menu is your typical Chinese Cantonese-style food. Some dishes are well seasoned, and with excellent "Wok-Hay." Noodle and Rice dishes are not thin and yes there is MSG. Everything is of good value, and they have a steady stream...
Read moreGod, it was horrible. Give me a bad feeling. We have been to this restaurant many times. I always like to order steamed fish 18.99 dollars when I come in, and this time, I still asked him to help us go in as usual because it takes a long time to steam, but when it came out, it was freshwater eel, and then we ordered two dishes and one small soup , when I finally paid the bill, it was one hundred and twenty-five, the steam freshwater eel was 72 dollars and I was really shocked. I don't know if this kind of behavior is deliberately trying to deceive us or what. Anyway, I feel cheated. If you are visiting this restaurant for the first time, I hope you can choose carefully and ask the price clearly, otherwise you will be cheated like us. I don't think I should go back again. There are many Cantonese restaurants in Los Angeles. Moreover, the service attitude of the short-haired waitress is terrible every time, and the dishes are thrown directly on the table. Looking at it, she feels that she doesn't like her job very much. I think if you don't like this job very much, why do you still...
