The Freezin Point — Restaurant in Monterey Park

I used to come to this place many, many years ago when I was a student, and now it's nostalgic to return as a parent with my kids. Pre-COVID, this spot was really cool (no pun intended) because you could actually watch them make the rolled ice cream right in front of you. It was always captivating to see, and I thought my daughter would enjoy it as much as I did back then.

However, more recently they've switched to a door-ordering model, so you can't really go inside anymore, which is kind of sad. I miss the unique, open space where they used to make the ice cream right in front of you, but I understand the safety concerns. They say that they're under construction, which it does look like they are, but looking at the photos on Yelp it seems like they've been "under construction" since 2023 which seems a little unlikely...

That said, they still offer very unique flavors and serve up some great desserts. We tried the ube and pandan flavors, and both were incredibly refreshing. I really shouldn't have finished the whole thing, especially since I had a stomachache from something else, but it was so good that I couldn't help myself!

Rolled ice cream! How interesting. Indeed, it was fun to watching them turn liquid flavored cream into ice cream rolls. However, because it is handcrafted individually, expect the wait. If you don't want to wait, they do offer scoop ice cream as well. However, since I didn't try their scooped ice cream, I can't comment on that. Good icecream and good amount of things to order. They add the toppings of what you order, such as the strawberry cheesecake. They add strawberry and cheesecake around some whipcream with some kind of strawberry jam or whatever. Only bad thing I noticed is that the floor is messy but just a quick sweep and it is good to go.
