We came here while passing through Montgomery on our way to Gulf Shores. I'd heard about this place's long history (open over 100 years!) and figured that combined with all the good reviews meant it had to be worthwhile. I'm glad I came!

I was a little stressed about what to get cause the sandwiches in the pictures looked absolutely loaded but the menu just sort of generically lists meats (eg ham, turkey, etc) and so I didn't know what all came on them! But it turns out it's more of a build-your-own kind of deal anyway, so you only ask for what you really want on there. No need to worry about mustard if you don't like it. ;)

There's pretty limited seating but there are tables and chairs both indoors and outdoors. You can order ahead, which we wished that we had, lol. The only drawback of the experience was the wait time. They were absolutely SLAMMED at around 12:15 on a Thursday. With all four lines running, it was still about a 15 minute wait to even get to the counter and order. This was made up for somewhat by the fact that the staff was so patient, kind, and considerate, respectfully answering questions, honoring requests, and providing extra napkins for our outdoor dining experience.

I ordered a smoked turkey sandwich on their homemade bread with Swiss cheese, lettuce, Mayo, and banana peppers. The small sandwich with chips was more than enough for me. The turkey was super fresh tasting, no funk, and the banana peppers popped! The fresh bread was soft and chewy and lovely. Chips and a drink rounded out a fairly priced and tasty lunch. Parents split the roast beef and cheese and enjoyed themselves, too, though Mom says it's still not quite the Hill in St. Louis, lol.

Overall, I'd definitely return for a nice deli lunch...

This place is heavenly… Earth Angels in the purest form carefully handcrafted each deli menu item with top tier ingredients, cleanliness and love . The taste of a NYC deli and lovely salads and fresh baked cookies that will have your stomach and your back stretched out . The lines are long but they move and handle customers very quickly and efficiently. The pick up window is super convenient and fast . Parking maybe annoying sometimes but on a nice day it’s not a bad idea to park down the block and take a nice brisk or breezy walk . Located on a cobblestone street that gives the ambience of a large city and park with a small town , warm and welcoming feeling. GO TO SCOTT ST DELI AND GET THERE BEFORE 2:00 pm because they close up shop everyday at 2:00. You...

Incredible! Everything is delicious but my favorite is the Italian. They take to-go & call in orders, but the experience is fun and it’s nice to talk to the workers and customize it right there. They make their own desserts, Italian sauce and bread fresh and it’s amazing! We got the chocolate chip and butter pecan cookies and both were home runs. If I lived here I would eat here ALL the time and it seems like people do. Also a huge fan of the unsweet tea brewed fresh (they also have sweet for those that enjoy drinking sugar). The staff is super friendly and helpful. Cannot say enough great things! (Picture it half eaten because it looked so good I couldn’t wait to try it haha)

Our first time there. The place was cute. Old country store feel. MoseT art behind the counter. I liked that the carver's counter had a Phillipe French dip(Los Angeles) sandwich kinda feel. The girl who fixed our sandwiches was so sweet and informative...I had the double meat Italian a little too salty for my taste mom had the club...also salty. But very filling. Free cookie upon first ever visit! I would recommend this joint to others driving through the Montgomery area...or just hungry for a hot or cold sandwich. Mom and pop shop. Owners are just darling. I plan on trying the other sandwiches out soon.

How have I never heard of this gem? They are a quaint little neighborhood market with some of the friendliest counter attendants! They have been there since 2014 I think and this was my first time visiting. The bread is made in-house and it is amazing! The chicken salad and tuna salad lacked flavor but everything else was Delicious! They custom make your sandwich on the spot and they offer call in service.
